The new MINI is targeted at those who want a whole new level of MINI fun on their adventures, whilst enjoying the benefits of fully-electric driving. The pod was a little compact and the car was slightly elevated! Although the MINI Countryman does feature higher suspension due to its more off-road utilitarian nature!

@@sycamore_mini thanks for the reply. I am test driving new Countryman S here in Michigan on May 6. Can’t wait to see one in the metal after watching dozens of videos! It’s had to judge size on videos as the perspective is constantly changing when the camera scans around the car.

Production for the fully-electric model is mainly carried out in China! ICE MINI models are still being produced at our home plant in Oxford!

They’re going to be built in England from 2026 on, but China now.

Hi Peter! That is the winter range of the current MINI Electric model. The new model features a more efficient drivetrain, and a larger battery. Therefore range is around 220-250 miles WLTP on the new model. WLTP is real world testing to ensure the quoted range figure is accurate.

Don't worry, Steph! The new MINI Operating System has been optimised to ensure it's just as easy to use as before, if anything even more intuitive!

@@petercoyne8300 the ice f66; how; I haven't seen anything from MINI till now. I know from rumors some things about the design such as the door handles, the arches etc but nothing is for sure. I don't know even the trims ( i hope that it would be the same with the electric cause i want the jcw trim ) and the price. I wish you all the best with your new MINI :)

Good question! The spoiler can be fitted, however the front bumper of the MINI Electric is designed to be as aerodynamic and electrically optimised as possible, therefore we recommend leaving it as it is, as this could affect both range and battery cooling!

⁠@@sycamore_mini Too late, I’ve already fitted the JCW front and rear bumper 😅 Just waiting for the inner plastic covers to block out airflow for the brake ducts. The cooler (lower grille) is covered with a stone guard grille. Not too worried about range, I swapped with a Peugeot e-208 which has 217 miles range. 50-100 miles is more than enough per day, charged overnight. I just cancelled the order for the track spoke 501 alloys to match the JCW look, as the current tentacle alloys look great. I love the confused faces when I’m out and about driving, they’re expecting pops and bangs from the exhaust 🤣 About that, I need to find a way to cover the empty exhaust space on the left side, or maybe stick on fake exhaust pipes.

From what I've read or heard, the MINI Cooper Electric is supposed to come to the US.

Not from this China made Mini Cooper.The US model won’t be available in the US until they start production of the new Mini Cooper SE at the Oxford plant.The US trade tariffs on Chinese made cars don’t make economic sense for BMW to import them into the US.Thats why Chinese made Teslas don’t get imported into the US but they are starting to send some to Canada.No one in North America should be buying a Chinese made car.

You can switch the screen off when driving if you prefer!

@@philtucker1224 unfortunately this wouldn't work as the screen is required to control the climate system and navigation!

@@sycamore_mini yes I know! (When I was younger it was supposedly illegal to watch tv or video screen while driving as considered very dangerous to take eyes off the road but I guess that law must have been rescinded??

This 230 hp version has a 250 mile range.

The Cooper E features a range of 170-190 miles, and the SE features a range of 220-250 miles! 0-60 isn't yet stated, however keep a lookout for our look & drive where we shall cover all of these figures!

The Cooper E and SE are available on the UK website with the Sport Trim which is the JCW parts seen in this video. The price of the Cooper SE with the full pack on is around £43,000.

What’s the expected delivery time after ordering? Also, what’s the cost to charge it from zero to full?

@@mikebuchan4904 current delivery times may vary depending in spec, Mike! We may see them around March/April time as it stands. As for charging cost, we will say for example the bigger battery in the SE (54KwH) would cost on a 12p/KwH tariff at home, around £6.50 to charge. However some providers offer an even lower tariff!

We aren't sure about the US Market yet. Although, keep a look out on the configurator 😁

The panoramic roof on this model is fixed! However it is larger than the current sunroof available on the F56 generation vehicles when opting for the Premium Plus pack!

@@sycamore_mini Shame it’s fixed as I always preferred to open the sunroof to let some air in than open the windows. This seems like big step in the wrong direction and making it bigger doesn’t do anything to compensate for the loss of the quasi open air experience. However it’s a very nice car otherwise.

@@enigmatwist6548 the new MINI family is absolutely gorgeous, even more so in the flesh. The panoramic roof does of course have the lighting effects in the side adding to cabin atmosphere. The fixed roof helps to keep higher positioned weight down and keep the vehicle quieter!

@@enigmatwist6548 - If I had to guess, MINI may reserve a future convertible for top open/top down capability. I know the current convertible allows partial opening to mimic an open sunroof.

The pod with the vehicle inside was a mobile unit, therefore headroom was much lower! The New MINI Cooper Electric is merely a fraction larger than the current F56, however inside it feels the same size yet more 'MINI' due to things like the smaller steering wheel!

That sounds awesome, John! They really have so much character especially when you add all of the JCW kit on, and especially that exhaust, it's a spectacle, a very loud one!

@@TheOnlyJizz only a select few can charge at home, thats why these cars are depreciating so badly

60% of UK households have off road parking. And there're depreciating because a) the market was flooded by cars coming off lease deals, b) because stupid people believe crap like they're expensive to charge when the opposite is true.

@@TheOnlyJizz the Octopus Energy EV tariff is particularly appealing, you're right, home charging is a great cost effective method and is designed to do most of the vehicle charging overnight, and preconditioning!
