Переглядів 7602 роки тому
Here's a rare '54 15 watt Fender Tweed Deluxe prototype with a Jensen Chicago P12R speaker. The amp has a 5D3 layout, but shares elements of its predecessor the 5C3. The chassis and cabinet are leftovers of Fender's 5C3 production amps, but they installed the new 5D3 prototype circuit board into it, along with its tube compliment. Thats an awesome looking guitar, a while ago i ordered a custom finish on my guitar based on antique pelham blue explorer and the color came out very similar, maybe a bit greener. What finish is your guitar? I would guess Inverness green. I really like the aged effect. Have you thought of black pickguard?

Oh rad, I love darker Pelham and faded looks cool too. Mine started out firemist silver and after the aging process in the clear coats it started to get this really great light blueish green accent going on.

I watched this video for the first time last year & I was stunned. Your Deluxe is a MASSIVE BEAST! I can forget about the 5E3. This is the one I would love to build. OR, if I come across a 5E3 clone or build, I'd definitely mod it to your amp specifications. This 5C3/5D3 crossover you have is a keeper. Although the 5E3 is the classic amp that almost everyone wants, but IMHO, this amp blows it out of the water.

I agree. Usually people are hung up on the '59 5E3 because of Neil Young, but this one indeed is special and the best I've played through so far out of all the vintage dudes that have come my way.
