no, this is not RNG manipulated. I grinded this game a lot and still try to go for WR, so it looks like good RNG, because PBs always have good RNG compared to an average run. Some notable reasons for opening or skipping chests: - deadly rod starts at F5 and yeah only until F9 there are rings/stones, but the first few floors only have good spells, not enough for me to waste that time. - dekar blade starts at F15, easily the most important item for the jelly. - at 50 there is old sword and lizard blow and at 60 is myth blade, so when my time is bad, I try to skip chest from around 30-50 and then hope for good chest RNG, thats what you need, when you go for that kind of a time. I would not recommend skipping chests, only when you aim around sub 1 hour.

The timing is pretty precise. For the speedrun I had a visual que, IIRC it was 3 frames, so 3/60 of a second.You could also try to spam the hit button and see what minigame you get, because the wheel is always the same

On the right side is the exit that you have to touch. When using attacks and in this case the horn attack, you extend your hitbox and can touch the exit door behind the wall

Das ist die manipulation, vorher probiert man am Emulator aus, was man machen muss um genau diese guten Ebenen zu bekommen. Sobald man dann die Vorarbeit geleistet hat, kann man es auch auf Konsole schaffen. Wenn man den Anfang genau gleich macht und in die Höhle in einem bestimmten Moment reingeht, dann weiß man welche Ebene man bekommt und muss dann nur noch perfekt spielen.

The movement and what not is really good, the graphics are also good. As a person that played this blind, though, the level design is really pretty bad and it's very much a "where the hell do you go" type of game. Then on top of that, if you aren't completely stun locking the enemies like this guy is they pretty much just slaughter you. Despite that though, I do still kinda like it on style alone.

@@Dominik40301 no, only with asterix. for what i know, i think obelisk has a bigger hitbox and can reach higher blocks with his punch, but not a big diference in a speedrun

​@@traviktox9856 I just tried to replicate it, but can't either. That's weird, considering older games didn't have fixes, and I used to play on the PAL version when I was younger. I don't remember if I played on the original PC version, or the rom version, but I'm sure it was on PC (I got stuck on the race level because I couldn't type quick enough on the keyboard :p). The character was Asterix by the way. I tried various inputs but every time I fall down, I just die.

​@@traviktox9856 From a computer perspective, I would say if this bug was real, the player would have to detach the player's position from the actual sprite, in a way that the player's position from the time of the charged attack stops moving vertically, but still retain horizontal speed. But when you charge an attack from mid-air, the horizontal speed stops, which is weird to me because in my memory the character would slide to the input direction while out of bounds.

Mittlerweile mach ich wieder mehr Ancient Cave. Hab auch in den letzten tage eine neue Zeit geschafft mit 49:55

yes, you are right. the problem is, your reaction time need to be really good. I tested it and you have something around 8 frames (0,16 sec) to decide to jump or not.
