Thanks for this, I am planning a trip next month so this helps a lot. Can you tell me which road did you use to get to Thaba Tseka? I am thinking of Sani Pass up, then via Thaba Tseka to Katie dam but I see google maps is telling me around 6 hours

Wild driving from the taxi!Lethal. Its a much better road than it used to be.In the 1960's My Dad used to go up and down it between Nelspruit and Barberton on his way between Rob Ferreira Hospital( when it was a beautiful new hospital) where we lived ,and Barberton Hospital to do postmortems. I loved going with him, but that pass used to make me car sick!

Next time you go up there you should visit the block house, just as you passed the peak of the pass there is a small road turning off to the left leading up to a lookout on the mountain and the remains of the block house. I also didn't know about it the first time I went up there, only went up to the block house after a friend told me about it...

My first time ever through Breedtsnek was on a motorcycle, a Chinese import semi off-road with a self build-up Suzuki 250cc engine... fun times.
