@@richarddepledge960 yeah it seems to be a bit random with the lights. It’s more an indication to the JMPI. Nobody jumps however, without the jumpmaster giving the command, that’s the key. Parachute Group Holland has some great guys, all professional serving Dutch military.

@@michaellord9 that’s a fabulous link to have to Market Garden. 5 x VC’s for a single operation tells you the level of courage displayed by so many over those few long days!

The West got involved in the war when its outcome was a foregone conclusion. The USSR is a real winner. More than 1,000,000 Soviet soldiers died in the Battle of Stalingrad alone. Japan was bombed in general only so that the USSR would not have time to accept its surrender. Since by that time the USSR had already defeated the Kwantung army. God only knows why the Allied forces bombed the peaceful city of Dresden at all. PS: Read the book by German professor Miriam Gebhardt "When the Soldiers Came". A book about the atrocities of Americans against German women.

If you know your history, you will realise that Britain (my country), stood alone against Hitlers forces for a full year before Germany ever entered Russia (June 1941 - Barbarossa). US troops only arrived in Europe in early 1942. The Germans bombed British cities to destruction. My Grandfather was a firefighter and my Grandmother drove ambulances. I am sorry that Dresden got bombed but that was a tactic designed to break the will of the German people. Exactly what Germany had tried to do to Britain. Russia’s contribution to the war and her losses were vast. That is unquestioned. Use some perspective and balance before throwing accusations that bear no relation to the content of the video. Thanks!

@@coggers410 The bombing of Dresden and other German cities, which were to enter the Soviet occupation zone after the war, was carried out not so much for military purposes (destruction of military facilities, damage to the enemy's army), as in order "to show the Soviet Union what would threaten the Red Army if a conflict suddenly arose now between Western countries and the USSR." Thus, the memorandum of the Royal Air Force, with which the British pilots were acquainted on the night before the attack (February 13, 1945), reported: "The purpose of the attack is to strike the enemy where he feels it most strongly, behind the partially collapsed front... and at the same time show the Russians, when they arrive in the city, what the Royal Air Force is capable of." All this was within the framework of the plan of a new world war - the West against the USSR. Already in the spring of 1945, on the instructions of Churchill, they prepared a plan for the "Unthinkable" - a plan of war against the USSR.
