PHONETIC SYMBOLS
" ' " - accent or soft sound symbol
1) if it is above a letter, it denotes a stressed vowel sound.
Example : í- stressed / i- unstressed
2) if it is next to a consonant letter, it denotes a soft consonant sound:
Example : s'- soft / s- hard
":" - a colon after a consonant, means that it is double, like a doppia in Italian;
/ɨ/ - vowel sound, corresponding to the letter Ы;
/i̯'/ - consonant sound, identical to the sound in English in the word “you”; In this video, the symbol /i̯'/ is replaced with /j’/;
/e/ - closed vowel sound /е/, like the two sounds in French in the word “sécher -/seʃe/- to dry”;
