Whittier Narrows Dam with BCCCSB L2
I led the L2 Group of the BCCCSB on this ride up to the Whittier Narrows Dam, across to the San Gabriel River path but skipped stopping at Porto's on a Holiday weekend.

A clearer day than normal for this ride to the Martin Luther King Memorial in the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area with vistas of Downtown LA with slight haze. Additional stops to see the Metropolitan Water District sculpture "Crossed Currents" and the "Mickey Haller House" featured on The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix.
Trancas BCCCsb L1 and L2

On an overcast and chilly day both the L1 & L2 groups headed up to Trancas, combining the groups at Temescal Canyon for the ride on PCH. As we arrived at Trancas we encountered some slight drizzle for a few minutes. The drizzle returned, a bit heavier, as we returned south via Point Dume. It dried up again after we rejoined PCH for the rest of the return trip.

I joined the BCCCsb Thursday Social Ride today as I missed riding on Tuesday. Filming on Westchester Parkway caused us to divert to World Way West for the sprint portion of the ride.

No, not at this time. Don’t know when it will open clear to Terminal Island.
Few days earlier Sat May 20 opening day ceremony you could've biked or walked the extra ~0.70 miles west down to the terminus of the MB path (ends abruptly) on Terminal Island but barrier supposedly re-erected later that afternoon. Apparently they're redesigning a safer connection to another path or bridge so I don't suppose it'll be open anytime soon. Not much for cyclists and less so for pedestrians to visit see or do on T.I. Cyclist could actually get to T.I. via Ocean Blvd onto the LB International Gateway Bridge as there is very wide shoulder but there is fast moving traffic merging from 710 south.

Is Playa Provisions any good?
I haven't been back there since this ride in June of 2020, but I always liked it there. Pre-pandemic, we went there a few times a year. With the road construction nearby we no longer cycle past it regularly, so haven't stopped there recently.
