L'Hymne à l'amour "Hymn to Love" was written by Édith Piaf and Marguerite Monnot. This French love song was written for Edith's lover, French boxer Marcel Cerdan, in 1949. Later that year, Marcel died in a plane crash while on his way to see her. In 1950, Edith recorded this song for Marcel on her La Vie En Rose album. An English version of L'Hymne à l'amour, "If You Love Me (Really Love Me)" was later recorded by popular artists like Donna Loren, Mary Hopkin and Kay Starr.
Today, this love song, along with La Vie En Rose, is played throughout the world.

I've crossed over from jazz to classical guitar two years ago and have never looked back. Playing the classical standards and Spanish influenced pieces pulls at my heartstrings every time I pick up my spruce or cedar.
After watching so many beautiful UA-cam videos of the masters playing these pieces, I recently decided to try my hand at recording using my iPhone. This opened my eyes as I can visually critique my myself as well. As such, not just learning the proper classical techniques but videography is a work in progress. Also, it’s a bit scary to publish myself. Two years playing equates to Grade 2 level but if I can take this leap, I hope it opens others on the same level to take the dive as well. One day when I’m retired, I hope to take proper lessons.
