In the summertime I do for sheepshead. But the current is no where near as bad as lynhaven.

Numbers can be good but they tend to be smaller in size.

It is a custom built rod by Steve Fogle of Backyard Custom Rods, 7ft Med/Hvy fast action with spiral wrapped guides. The reel is a Quantum Accurist, I like the flipping switch feature which allows me to use drop bait one handed.

We used fiddler crabs and sand fleas for bait.

We always do good on outgoing tide.

The rod was custom built by Steve Fogle of Backyard Custom Rods. It’s a 7ft MH blank with spiral wrapped guides, the reel is a Quantum Accurist, I like these reels for the flipping switch which allows for one handed use. Where do you fish? Keep at it, took me several trips before I got the technique right.

@@laodoutdooradventures2458 awesome, thanks. I live in NC but a few hours from the coast, so i take any chance i get to hit the coast lol. been only using fiddlers crabs, but i heard using other bait like mud crabs works really well?

i just hit morehead city labor day weekend and i saw the biggest sheepshead ive ever seen just chewing on some barnacles! no luck in sheeps, just reds and flounders this time

@@ralphpratt9671 I seen at pogies you can get a pass to fish the boat docks. I seen some small sheepshead and a ton of bait between there and the bridge so I'm gonna go try that out

I’m using my fish finder for depth and bottom structure. You don’t really mark flounder on the fish finder. I do use fish finder for other species.

@@laodoutdooradventures2458 thank you! I love the videos. I am new to kayak fishing and went to the pilings the other day. I don’t have pedals so I hold onto a piling or drift. Is it reasonable to fish the pilings all throughout the summer and even into the fall?

@@Kyle-x9v3jyes! The pilings are productive during the summer. Try to fish during moving tide. We go out at least a handful of times during the summer! Hope to run into you.
