to be more specific than I was in the video, enemies that aren't present on the first turn of combat won't have the maso mode half damage applied to them. That includes stuff like logic's tanks/hands, dysmorphia's skeletons, and sometimes platoon. I guess whatever code does the half damage is a status effect applied to the enemies at the beginning of combat

Hm, I always thought about it like a Miro's wild idea in process of development. There you encounter a big dog with ton of HP and in the end you have a God. Both of them have some sort of second phase, but I want to give them chance to make fight easier if they deserve that (destroy miasma and prevent second phase of Logic) and show bosses bigger and stronger. But from this perspective it looks like a bug))

well I'm just starting too lol so idk any tips. I guess just don't get too lost in the sauce. Doing a couple alright videos will probably make you better than doing one perfect video.

Dont worry, the game gets easier. Not only because your character gets more and better skills and equipment but also because you learn which fights to take and which not.

Took me thirty mins to clear the entire thing on my first try and then I stepped on a mine and exploded 😭

I think it's funny how condensed nettle is somehow both really strong and sorta useless at the same time

a bit new to the game, what does condensed nettle do, and how do you obtain it?

@@annelieniedzwitzki1389 Olivia's skills let you pick nettle and combine it with a red herb to get condensed nettle. It stuns the enemy limb for 1 or 2 turns. Every other stun uses the concussed status effect (which you can see in the gull bros fight), but most of the bosses are immune to that. Condensed nettle doesn't use a status effect, so it works against every enemy. e.g. that's why logic and rher never attacked in the video. However some enemy attacks happen at the beginning of the round of combat, not on the enemy's turn. And for whatever reason these types of attacks can't be stunned by anything (I think it's a bug). That's why I still destroyed logic's tanks.

It's a bug. The hardened heart's damage reduction gets messed up when you have the last defense buff, such that you take negative damage (which just shows as 0). Though it doesn't protect from status effects so you also need the salmonsnake rune.

Glass shards on the head blinds the entire enemy at the end of the turn. Glass shards on a specific body part only blinds that body part, but applies immediately (and doesn't have an icon). Doing the arms basically just gives one extra turn of blindness.

Also the debuffs stack, so doing them both against the sylvian trooper was to avoid both whip and platoon charge hitting on the same turn
