My son in law got an external ODD & HDD cd player device for me. It seemed simple with 1 USB cable hookup for my car. Like the video shows I guess it's not compatible with my 2022 Highlander Hybrid. Would I need your smart cd module to make it work ? I can plug it in and power it up but it isn't being recognized to go forward from there. Perhaps this will fix things ?

I realize this video is a year old, but if anyone is out there, does it work with Android as well?
Can i plug my phone into it and give it wifi? If not this is worthless because wifi for cars is outrages these days.
Yes you can use your phone as a Hotspot to provide Wifi!
Doesn't fit the Ram 2500/3500 even though it says it does. Purchased this from Etrailer and it appears the light they are using here is on a 1500??? The unit is too long for the 2500/3500. Good video quality when I bench tested it. Wanted this to so work/fit, but in the end it didn't.

There are two types of these CD players USBCD1 and 2 produced by AIE. They cost about $140-150. Check online which type will work best in your car. I bought USBCD1 on Amazon and works perfectly in my 2022 Pathfinder. I have another one in 2019 Santa Fe. BTW, you don't need a converter. No, it won't void anything because that's what USB ports are for.

Hey there, what kind of vehicle do you have? If you do not have CarPlay this kit will not work, but we have another one that will work depending on vehicle.
