Oceanomare-Delphis Onlus (ODO) is a non-profit organization established to study and preserve cetaceans, and the ecosystems they inhabit, through knowledge, conservation and awareness actions.
ISCHIA DOLPHIN PROJECT, THE EXPERIENCE
We sail in the Mediterranean, in the Important Marine Mammal Area between the Islands of Ischia and Ventotene.
It's a unique opportunity to study cetaceans, with seven different Mediterranean species living there.
We are looking for passionate people who want to make a personal commitment to cetacean conservation.
No special training is required to participate, just a spirit of adaptation and a lot of enthusiasm.
The experience focuses on personal growth, socially responsible behaviours, and teamwork. The boat environment promotes the values of recycling, energy efficiency, water and resource conservation, and a simple lifestyle. Encountering animals like dolphins and whales in their natural habitat helps us understand conservation issues like habitat modification, overfishing, resource depletion, and pollution.
Participants from around the globe gain valuable knowledge of cetacean field research techniques through their participation in the projects. Expect also meaningful human experiences.
Thanks to Alessandro Portante, the filmmaker who made this short montage while working on his documentary about our expeditions at sea.

Recovery of an abandoned Fishing Aggregating Device (FAD) carried out by the researchers of Oceanomare Delphis during the winter monitoring of cetaceans in the Marine Protected Area Regno di Nettuno. The fishing gear consists of palm branches tied to floats (usually cans, plastic bottles), and anchored to the seabed by a long rope of synthetic material. Some species, in the Mediterranean mainly...

Amazing work. Thank you!
God bless 🙏
The choice of music makes it all way too Idolatrous and self-agrandizing.
Thank you XX
Beautiful, heroes at work. Thank you
❤❤❤
Everyone who eats fish taken from the sea is responsible for this.
James did a great thing, Bless him for saving the whale, James is a hero
Was the “sad” music playing as you were freeing this beautiful creature?
So very sad to see what mankind is doing to this wonderful world that we are living in.
this whale stays still while rescuing,
Dont you bring abiger size scisores ?. Why you are bringing a paper cutting scisores
Amazing
Fishing nets should be made from biodegradable materials that break down in salt water quickly.
Sad to see a lonely whale.
❤❤❤❤
Super labombastic fantastic skolastic 🚦😌🦵🦈💕😇🤼♂🤝🚐✌❤👂😍👃🐥😘👌👀🧠✈💯🐬💋👽🥽🦷🐘🛳👑🙏☀🌛🥰💘💪🚀👍👏🤘
Good work, thank you Italian Coast Guard ❤
❤❤❤
Why do rescue divers never have the right tools they always use some tool box left overs....if you own a wet suit get cutting tools for nets and ropes of all sizes...every diver should carry cutters for nylon rope....knives alone are not effective....WAKE UP....
Just so heartbroken that people would knowingly use those nets..... So glad that there are amazing people to help ❤
DANK U
Rev 11:18 last part of the verse, yes man has a lot to answer for 😢
❤❤❤❤
It really infuriates me that fishermen will dump their old nets and other gear into the ocean rather than disposing of it properly just to save a few dollars knowing that those nets will continue to catch and kill fish for years to come. I realize people need to eat and feed their families but if you’re going to fish the ocean atleast leave it the way you found it!! Even better if you see trash in the water pick it up and haul it to shore. Otherwise there won’t be any fish left for our great grandchildren!!!!
what really makes me angry about the people commenting about the litter/debris/pollution/and plastics in the oceans (ESPECIALLY FISHING NETS) come from 3rd world countries which dont even have a landfill to put trash!¡!! and the trolls just want to make it known they have feelings about the issue but that's good enough to just tell people
People see these videos all over UA-cam and Facebook and usually 9/10 comments are about how awful we are to the oceans specifically..... EXCEPT THIS VIDEO the comments were so positive towards the scuba divers and happy whales!
Epic!!
Fabulous
It's nice to see humans helping clean up the mess we've made...
Eat your heart out, Ocean Conservation Namibia. 😎
When man benefits creation rather than destroying it
Great job freeing the whales but What’s with music
Just made my day thank you Karma ❣️🏴
👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️😍👏😍❤️👏😏
I swear that guy was smiling at them as they waved goodbye
amazing how they just float there and trust the guys to cut the net.. well done guys
Bril!. Nuff said!. 🙂
Bravo les enfants.
Get some proper scissors.
It's too bad these nets cannot be traced back to the owner so they can be prosecuted.
Wonderful work! Bravo!
Absolutely phenomenally kind.
I suspect these were amongst the most rewarding days in these divers lives.
