Of ALL the people you could choose to heckle, why would you pick one of the most absolutely talented and iconic people in modern music? Åkerfeldt is a fucking international treasure, as are the rest of the band. Also, way to get an entire crowd of people pissed off at you in a single moment.

I saw them take requests around the Blackwater Park days, the one song that stood out from thecrowd was black rose immortal, and he said something to the effect its been years they dont remember how to play it.

At a show i was at in October someone yelled out to play black rose immortal and Mikael responded by saying he hated it and wouldn't play it.

I saw them 3 times in a row on the Ghost Reveries tour and I yelled Serenity Painted Death so much that by the 3rd show he could tell it was me and gave in a played just 1 riff from the song and the crowd went crazy.. wish they would add that to their set now that he's really growling again

I seen these guys years ago at the Roseland theater in Portland oregon it was awesome and Mike was tuning his acoustic for the next song and some drunk guy kept screaming play demon of the fucking fall over and over and he didn't even look up from tuning he just replied shut up bitch with the calmest voice ever to the obnoxious guy it was hilarious!

I request that Mikael write some good music again. That would be really nice

I saw them at the Orpheum Theatre for the 25th anniversary tour, final show, and he was very funny.

They played Blackrose Immortal by request in Istanbul which I hated. It deprived me of Deliverance. Whoever shouted that song for an hour, fuck him.

This guy does some of the best crowd interaction in the freaking business. Every time I went to see them they played so tight and Micheal is like a stand up comedian almost. Truly amazing stuff, go see Opeth live if you are able. You won't regret it.

Mikael Åkerfeldt will never be poor because he will always have a job: when he retires from music (a sad day it will be), he will easily be able to become the greatest comedian ever.

I've been to a few Opeth shows and Mikael always makes sure things are entertaining and fun. We're all there to have a good time and his humor lends a lot to that.
