This is probably the first project in animation or VFX to have applied this "sketchviz" technique, and I heard it was also done in Coyote vs. ACME. It's really cool how experienced 2D artists worked in tandem with the animators, to provide rough animation over a rough edit as a guide for them to study the look and feel of traditional animation. Among other software provided was a line generation tool, so that every final frame looks and feels identical to actual 2D animation. Even by filling in the blanks between poses. This was absolutely ahead of its time, and was clearly done out of both innovation and love for the source material. Replicating classic 2D animation in half the time of drawing every frame is an incredible achievement.

That's definitely Steve Blum voicing D-16 & Alpha Trion, I can 100% hear Heatwave from RB in D-16's voice

I think it’s interesting how Orion also didn’t initially believe alpha trion about Sentinel in the earlier versions of the script. In the final version, after alpha trion says sentinel isn’t a prime, his reaction is, “why would you say that?” As if he’s already considering it could be true compared to everyone else. Whereas here it’s, “of course he is [a prime.]”

I like that in this it’s been 1,000 cycles since the death of the primes and end of the war, 50 was just way to short. That being said, “the truth is what I make it” what are the odds that sentinel lied about how long ago the war and deaths were?
