Hello and welcome to my channel!
Originally a car channel.... filming and editing for that became quite the chore when covered in crap and oil, so I'm now doing watch related content as and when the time permits which will be sporadically throughout the year.
This is a passion project and to help improve my videography and photography skills which I've developed a keen interest in, I don't expect to be making those UA-cam Millions :)
Ciao for now.

Tudor Black Bay Ceramic - It wears better than you might think
Here I discuss why I chose this Tudor over others and why I think its wearing experience is better than a lot of the rest, even with a 41mm case. I also talk about some of the key features and why this is a truly outstanding watch for anyone looking at Tudor or in the market for a black or ceramic watch.
Note - When I say there is a lack of AR coating, I’m aware that Tudor do apparently use some on the underside, just not enough!

Christopher Ward C65 Sandhurst S2 - Unboxing & Overview - Impressed!
Переглядів 21 тис.Рік тому
Christopher Ward punches well above its price in terms of finishing and quality, but there are a couple drawbacks to the new C65 Sandhurst. However, the pros certainly outweigh the cons. In this video I unbox the C65 Sandhurst Series 2 watch, a homage of the 1969 Smiths W10, but with more flare and some really great features. I tell you know my first impressions and give you an overview of the ...
Certainly not an issued watch as ‘G10 for men’ is still de rigour unless in aviation. Agree with marketing comment. It’s a really nice looking watch though and appreciate the flag design, the COSC movement is significant. 150m wr and decent lume are excellent albeit lume life is unknown when compared to tritium. Customer service and lead times appear inconsistent. Domed glass is to taste and I wouldn’t deploy on ops with it so more dressy than I’d go for practically. Pricing model is also troubling which may hurt residuals in the long term. I’m still 50/50. It’s nearly there for me, Add tritium, glass protection and a trouble free bracelet and it would be self selecting.
now you are out over $5K, for what? For you to feel good for few days? LOL

Do you think it could looks good on my 6.1 inch wirst?
Interesting review, thank you. Having just wasted a couple of hundred quid less than this on a watch that doesn't live up to it's marketing, I'm looking for a solid 'where anywhere' field watch and you're review has helped solidify my thoughts on this one. A year on, how are you getting on with it?
beautiful watch, gonna buy this when i get my bonus.
Nice very nice watch box I want to get this one I currently have a very cheap watch box I'm not really happy with I think I paid $20 for it about two years ago
Hi, may I kindly inquire the length&width size of the beneath drawer? As I was hoping if it's able to place my Mont Blanc pen in it horizontally (instead of vertical)
Hi there, the main storage area is around 21.5cm x 14cm. Hope that helps.
@@markotoole7937 Thank you! By any chance is the drawer’s separation wall able to remove or customized ?
@xtremescy No, they don't separate, I guess you could saw them out, but it isn't going to look great.
@@markotoole7937 Also am I inquiry for the cushion size (Width, Length and Depth)? I'm thinking will it be able to fit; if I swap it out with original Rolex watch cushion instead. Also the length and width of the watch square (without watch cushion) Thanks again!
Price of this watch please?
They're about £4.4k at the moment, however you can pickup used for around £3.2k
How realistically durable is it for a daily watch? Could you wear it gardening without getting scratches and dings?
Hi Chris, it's durable in the sense that after all this time, it still has no scratches whatsoever. I've knocked it on a desk, in the car etc. but never really hard. If it was steel, it'd have some serious scratches now. The drawback with ceramic is it can dent or shatter, so heavy duty tasks like gardening where it might take substantial knocks might not be a good idea.
Nice little video. I have version 1b (screw down crown and on the fly bracelet). Such a perfect watch with chronometer certification and on the fly bracelet. Perfect. I thought about upgrading for the enhanced lume but I’m good.
Value for money especially when you can get 1 new at 40% discount and almost 50% discount for a 1 yr old pc.😊
that's what I've just done and super happy now :)

Lug to lug is 43.7 mm.
Hi Mark, what strap do you have on it?
Hi Paul, it's this one: tunsstore.com/shop/watch-strap/epi-black-leather-watch-strap/ I have a number of straps from Tuns, they're good quality. The beauty is you can pick the exact size and customize it how you please with stitching etc. I'm going to order the Nubuck Alligator from there for this watch too.
@@markotoole7937 thanks, now I’ve got to somehow get the strap off, without breaking it
@@PaulTaylor010 Yes, the rubber strap is in there incredibly tight and the rubber is so stiff. I taped up the lugs to protect them and wedged in a spring bar tool, but it took a while. It might be safer doing the dental floss trick, but I've never tried that.
I have this watch in my collection and love it. As I build out my collection, figured one Tudor was required. As many stated, the straps simply do not work. I need to find a better option. Thank you for the review.
No problem, glad you liked it. Here is a short video of three straps I use. The video isn't great quality, but you get the idea ua-cam.com/users/shortshjhpkMA66Ho?si=vOsqiaslk4RtEeLo
congratulations for the video. I have it too and I love it, but I ended up on this video looking online for other options for the strap, like you said is not comfortable. I'm thinking of getting the rubber b swimskin alligator which would make it even more similar to the 2019 black bay one
Nice, it's a favourite of mine and gets worn lots. The Rubber B gets a lot of praise and it looks great on alligator. I switch mine between three straps now, a leather with the original clasp, a black Milanese and a velcro strap for watch gecko, all are much better than the originals.

Lovely collection! I love the look of the Christopher Ward, I’ve been trying to decide between that or the C65 Dune. I’m wondering all these months later whether you’ve kept or sold the watch?
I ended up selling. From the press shots I've seen, I'd go with the Dune if it was between the two, however I keep getting tempted by their new GMT with the multi link bracelet and blue dial.
Thanks for the post. What's the bracelet taper ?
Hey, no problem. I actually moved this piece on, otherwise I'd get the calipers out and let you know. It certainly had a taper but it wasn't big.
What an awful box!!!, I have 3 CW watches 2 Tridents which are my favorite watches & come in nice watch boxes. Then i ordered a Lympstone, nice watch but, i now realise i need a date on my watch so it never gets worn!. Then there is that dreadful box!!. An ex girl friend says she has something that would be much better kept in the box?. However, the box is on top of the wardrobe & not with my watch collection & because of that i wont buy another CW watch, the box!! . I have a few watches & the CW box looks so out of place!!
Beautiful and stealth! Love it
Great review thanks. Interesting that the ceramic is slightly thinner than the steel, as that is my one dislike about the Tudors. I am considering two extremes at the moment, either this ceramic or the Silver 925 Trouble is they both look fantastic!
No problem. I lean towards smaller watches, 39-40mm is ideal for me, however the BB Ceramic is still a really nice wearing experience. I think Tudor have thinned down their newer Black Bay's so the ceramic isn't alone now. I actually had a BB58 Bronze arrive today, have you considered that if you're looking at those two?
@@markotoole7937 Yep I have. For some reason the black dial version doesn't have the bronze bracelet as far as I can see?
@@Kwazart correct, it's only the brown fume dial in 39mm with the bronze bracelet, it has the t-fit adust on it which is pretty awesome.
@@markotoole7937 I have a few bronze watches already anyway, so I'll stick with the ceramic/silver dilemma for awhile. ua-cam.com/video/uADVuLo1U3s/v-deo.html
Stunning
Sure is!
No worries taking leather straps in the water. We don't take off our leather boots when its raining, in the mud or in the fields of battle :)
I really don't think it'd last long taking it in water. It's a thin piece of leather glued/stitched to rubber, it can't be compared to leather walking boots 😁
@@markotoole7937 I yield.
Great Video- This watch is one of the most beautiful of all watches (in my opinion). The contrast; the black movement/Jewels. I'm about Dials/Hands/Movements/Case Material. This ticks all my boxes!! The finishing on the case (Polished Edge and the Brushed Bezel is fantastic!)
Thanks for your comment. I'm a big fan of the BB Ceramic! I'd love it if they did a 39mm version and improved the straps, that would make it god tier!
I got this as a grail. Definitely has treated me well.
stealthy look with that black watch and strap. look super nice!

Your right the straps are terribly uncomfortable, thinking about going with the rubber b strap, witch did you choose?
Yep! Sure, in the video it's a strap from "Tuns Leather" you'll find them on Etsy but cheaper from their website directly. Check the reviews on Etsy though, super quality for a custom leather strap made to your specifications. I had about 10 straps from them, all excellent.
I've also considered the Rubber B one.
I agree with your review of the BB ceramic, especially the original strap. Could you share what strap are you using in the video which looks great. Thanks!

I've seen lot's of comments saying the CW clasp is too long, I've never seen a comment saying the rolex glide lock clasp is too long, and they are both the same size...
Great choices.
Thanks Keith. I've had a couple of changes over the last few months so looking forward to doing an update soon.
Same look still with different colours.
Well it's not just a colour when compared to the original, it's a completely different case material, thinner, has more curvature, a different METAS movement, and open cashback. I'd say that makes it pretty different, but of course, it's still a BlackBay.
I think it's simply stunning. Seriously gorgeous.
I enjoyed your video thanks. I’m hoping to pick up this watch myself very soon, hoping my AD can replace the existing hybrid strap for a larger one for my 20 cm wrist. What strap do you have on your watch? It works very well.
Hi Martin, glad you liked it. The strap is made by someone called "Tuns Leather" I also have a waxy green strap from him I use on this watch. If you search on Etsy he'll come up, very reasonable pricing and quality is excellent.
Hello Markie Mark, and thanks for this vid. I'm not a huge fan of the Tudor BB but this one is surrely worth a look. If not, do you know Unimatic? Their black models might please you, especially the Modello Uno U1S-MN. ;)

Killer collection overall! I especially like the Oris
Thank you mate! The Bronze Oris is a keeper for sure. I'm looking forward to doing another SOTC video towards the end of the year as much has changed!
I just bought a dune. BUT, I think i should have boughg the sandhurst. I lime the straight seconds hand. and, the numerals. I am considering trading it. thoughts?
I haven't seen the Dune in person, but it looks a great watch, I particularly like the white sands one. Case and bracelet seems similar to the Sandhurst, so it really depends what you want from the dial. I have a couple of other watches with a similar dial layout and indices to the Dune and I wanted a military inspired watch with numerals, hence the Sandhurst.
Thank you for giving us the chance to see this watch from many angles and for your point of view. I was going to buy the Tudor Ranger but I always got this one in the back of my head. So I made powerpoint slides with both watches side by side and looked at it for two weeks. At first I was completely sold on the Ranger but with time and putting aside the hype around Tudor, the dial of the sandhurst became the better of the two. Then, if you try to rationalize a bit, you get with the sandhurst a more beautyfull case and handset, an equally well built bracelet and a COSC certified movement. What you will get from the Ranger, for more than double the price is the T-fit , 32 hours more of power reserve, a silicon balance spring and social recongnition. I don't think that it is worth 2100$CAD more. Plus let say it, antimagnetism isn't an absolut feature on a watch. For 350$, you can get a excellent "Elma antimag" to demagnetize all your watches. You save again because Sellita movements are cheaper to service than the "MT calibers". So my C65 sandhurst should arrive in 2 days.
Nice, that's a well thought out and sensible approach to making a purchase and I agree with the points you made. I want to like the Ranger, but I feel Tudor could've done it much better.

I've got the first version. It's a great watch. Very comfy
Looks really nice I want the bronze ver. with bracelet. Love how vintage it looks. Very cool. Deciding btwn the sandhurst bronze or dune bronze blue dial
I don't know why anyone would buy a GMT without a rotating bezel, especially if you lived in the UK where GMT time = local time. Good advice on the CW piece - does seem odd for a military watch to have all that high polish. Good legibility though.
I need to know what time it is in the US for work, so I set the GMT hand to Savannah time and use the main hands for local time in the UK. It works for me! 😁
Timefactors offers the Smith Military which looks to me to be a nearly exact copy of the original Smiths W10. Very pleased with mine.
