Thank you so much for saying this. I needed to hear that. I'm struggling a bit to record voice overs at the moment, hence the different video styles but they will be back in the next videos. there is only so much you can do without saying anything but it sure helps when the images do it for you 😄 This trip was nothing short of spectacular.

@ the audio is still important I think, even or especially without voice. The sound of bare feet on gravel, your dry suspension joint creaking over the bumps and the hilux motor pulling away in its own particular easy way. I think like me you’re originally in no rush to put your face on these videos because in essence the story should be about the place and the journey, the same as if you were telling the story of your travels to a friend you would expect them to look at your photos more than your face, but then they would already know your face. Seeing a face is cool in this video, especially in the absence of dialogue. I guess it’s a nice thing in fact that within the digital portals we use these days a face (human or dog😄) still connects and engages people more than anything else.

@@VISTATREKKER agreed, audio is very important, exactly as you describe it! it adds another layer to the images :) I filmed myself a bit more on this trip and talked to the camera as well, you will be able to see this in some of my future videos. it is funny because you can see how I get more and more comfortable with it.. I guess it is all about exposing yourself more to it 😅

@@VISTATREKKER Unfortunately, not really, I was 17 at the time, so no drivers licence, but the family I was staying with still let me drive on the beach :D managed to get bogged of course haha that was my first off-road experience as well, I will never forget it :D other than that we drove up north from Perth into the desert but I wouldn't call it overlanding :) I also haven't found my way back yet ): but I'm planning to go back some time in the coming years :)

Hi mate! Thanks for watching and the comment! My friends are very happy with the Duster, it is actually very capable, even on stock tires! Sure, it has its limitations compared to other 4wd's but if you drive it correctly it can go pretty much anyywhere! Upgrade the tires and I think it is one of the better cars out there, especially for the price :)

Drove nearly 3000km's now with it and everytime offroad the duster keeps surprising me! It has no low gear and diff locks but with it's small size and weight, it sure is capable if you know how to use it! Cheers

@@VISTATREKKER thanks alot!! The Wheels are Goss Steel 8 Spoke rims I believe. All my racks are the frontrunner racks, I know they add weight but they are very versatile and offer different uses for my job and free time (: The "rock-sliders" are only the factory side-steps, so not really a rock slider and don't offer that much protection, I use them more to acces the roof a little easier (: Thank you for the love! Building are car like this is a never ending process, you can always tweak it here and there (:
