How can i make smaller squares for my 7yo? I did 4 sqares without the extra row but its still too big Im using 6.5 mm hook with acrylic yarn that recomandes 4-5mm

I have a lot of pretty projects on the list, but as soon as I’m done with Christmas gifts I am starting this one and hoping to be finished before the winter ends. I love willow granny squares and already made a bag with them but I never got the idea of making them with a size 8 hook and assemble them to a sweater. Hi! So excited to make this sweater. I will use another type or yarn but also a super bulky one to match the style. Just a question: you used a 10mm hook, but on your yarn it says the recommendation is 15mm. Why is it so different?

I’m curious. What size hook did you use for the project? I tried a 10mm but the underlying color on the back panel was showing too much so I started over with an 8mm and got much better results. Thanks!!

Which ply yarn did you use? I actually started making one w acrylic yarn and felt that it might be too thick and not breathable for my bf. So I was going to get cotton one. Should I take 100% cotton or a mix of cotton and polyester? And what ply should it get? 3 or 2?

Hello I have a question. So if I'm correct you are using a yarn that a 4mm hook is recommended for however you use a 8mm hook instead? I'm asking because I don't think I can find this yarn in the country I live in, but I can find others that 4mm hook is recommended for. Also, about what size is this piece?
