Procreate for Drawing Accuracy (revised for Procreate 5.1 Update)
Переглядів 2,4 тис.4 роки тому
This video describes how I use the Procreate App on my iPad to help me get an accurate drawing (on paper) for a portrait without gridding, tracing, or other more labor intensive methods. It lets you practice your freehand drawing skills, but helps you make sure your drawing is correct. This version of Procreate used in this video requires iPadOS 13.2 or newer. If you have an older iPad, you may...

NOTE: I'll be revising this video to reflect a change that was made in the App's latest update. For now - just note that to change the opacity of a layer - Go to "Layers", click the "N" on the layer you want to change, and move the slider. Speeded up drawing and painting process of a watercolor portrait sketch
Quick Sketch of Noah
Переглядів 8 тис.4 роки тому
This is a LONGER demo - only speeded up 2x, with 5 minutes of my drawing process at the beginning. If you want to try to paint this, you can download the reference photo and a photo that you could print onto watercolor paper to practice (most ink jet printers will print onto 140 lb watercolor paper) at www.flickr.com/photos/158856236@N07/albums/72157713508532688. I love to see a portrait of a man. All you see is women
Thank you so much, I love your portraits 😊
So enjoyed the whole process thank you Pam for sharing feeling inspired and so happy I found your channel bless you❤
Love this. Thank you
Thank you Pam - lovely....trying to get up the confidence to experiment with different colors
super wonderful
You have such a good eye for capturing your model. Can you explain more about your pauses when we see your pencil take a vertical or horizontal motion? I have watched your Procreate videos. But you don’t actually draw the model in the iPad do you?
Thank you. I’m trying to learn portrait drawing and I was stuck on the perspective of my first drawing. Just downloaded procreate and found your video. I was so frustrated, I’m going to try this to see where I went wrong. Is hard sometimes to see our own mistake. I was ready to give up. I will try it your way. I’m teaching myself and I don’t have anyone that could help me see my mistakes.
Very good 👍
Thank you for generously sharing your technique stroke by stroke. It has been most helpful. I've learned so much
magnifique ,j'adore votre travail merci
You don't use proportional divider?
Bravo!! This is so very helpful! I took a course on Sketchbook Skool called “Be an iPad Artist” so I was able to understand what you were doing. Thank you so much, Pam. Great tool to supplement our drawing skills! Wow.
Hi Pam!! Hope u get this!! Can u tell me what u do your drawing with?
Regular bic mechanical pencil. #2
A wonderful study. Thanks for such a detailed, helpful description. I do like the way watercolour looks so flesh-like and fresh. I'll give indigo and burnt umber a go (I've never used this combination).
Its just a free hand trace of the image on Procreate-outlined right?…that’s the easiest for accuracy and time
How do you get such a great sketch without gridding?
Fawork. Love your videos and seeing your process
Please show us more of ypur fabulous portraits!
Your art is so beautiful. Your style of portraits is amazing. I’d love to learn from you.
wonderfully done
Merci pour ce partage genereux de vos compétences. Je suis tres intéressée par vos demonstrations pas trop rapides. Est ce que vous attendez que le papier soit sec avant de mettre a nouveau un jus ?
Thank you Pam! It was good to see a slowed version after taking your workshop. He is a very handsome man!
Thanks, Leigh! Good to know this is still being looked at.
Perfect👏👏👏
love your style
What a gift this video is. Thank you so much!

Amazing tutorial Pam loved the way you explained the process and the why and what, and it was just mesmerizing how you went about building up the painting New Fiend Please keep safe keep connected dear friend💖💜💛 I am not a portrait Artist but I am looking around for styles I can relate to.
Impressive!
I love watching in real time Pam, your technique is amazing. 🎨❤️
I really enjoy that you narrate your painting. It really helps to understand your thinking. Thank you this was amazing.
Beautiful technique with stunning result. Thank you so much.
Hai super.. 👌👌👌
Absolutely beautiful and very inspiring. Thank you.
beautiful interpretation by a talented and elegant watercolorist...well done!
I really enjoyed your painting!
I really love your approach and results in your work! Looks like I need to buy some Holbein Burnt Sienna. Any suggestions for mixing this from Daniel Smith Burnt Sienna?. It has much more red that I need to downplay...? Also when will you open your August 24,25 (Tues, Wed - 2 Day online workshop) for signing up? or do I need to ask Minnesota Watercolor society?
Very nice and clear. Thank you
Fantastic!
Thank you for a very informative video. I love your loose painting style

Thankyou a lot for sharing this wonderful video. I like so much your color's choice and your style. I note that you use a big brush with a beautiful sharp tip. Is it natural or sintetic? I''d like to know the number and the brand. Thankyou
Best
Just wondering is that a water soluble lead pencil you are using? Very nice work!
