Wasn’t there an overture about changing the BCO clarifying that marriage was between one man and one woman? I know it made it to the presbytery level but have heard nothing about it at the GA. Could someone please help me understand?

Interesting what I get in YT feed. I saw the preview of this video and thought in look a lot like the sanctuary of FUMC - Pittsburg, TX. I I watched the video, and sure enough, except for the balcony, almost the exact layout as FUMC-Pittsburg. I also enjoyed hearing the gospel preached. I am not one for "hymns" and "traditional services" (just personal taste, that's all) but this was Good stuff. I don't agree with all of the TULIP, but from what I saw here, I could stand arm in arm with this church. Thank you Jesus, for your blood applied.

if anyone from this church sees my comment I’m wondering how you structure this prayer time. I’ve been to churches where people just pray from their seats as the Lord leads. At times this leads to long periods of silence which can be ok but also since people are praying from their seats, they aren’t always heard by everyone in attendance. Are certain people asked to prayer? Are they given specific lists to pray from? Any in put you can provide to improve our corporate prayer time would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for blessing us who heard and saw with a beautifully performed Handel's Messiah, part 2. I watched and listened today for the second time and was touched by our Lord's great sacrifice for us, who only deserve his condemnation. May God be praised for his grace and love and for the gifts he gives in the musical realm.

For a long time I have thought that Christ commanded His Spirit to leave His body when He said: Father into your hands I commit my spirit. Then I heard Donald Gray Barnhouse say the same thing. I have never heard any one else say this. He did say I have power to lay down my life and to take it up again.

Take a bow Mr. Smoker and Choir. Simply fabulous. The message was spot on as well....but that happens all the time.

I would respectfully like to submit that so much of this is against what Jesus actually said by word and by example. You can talk about the unconditional love of God all you want, but when you refuse to accept people as they are and condemn them without hearing them, you are not emulating him at all. As one raised in the church I have witnessed it all firsthand. As one disowned by their father who constantly preached unconditional love I have a unique perspective. You are so full of your holier than thou attitudes and refusal to remove the log from your own eyes while trying to force the specks out of others that you can’t see the damage you are truly doing. The harm you choose lasts for generations. You can look at the stance the Presbyterian churches took in the 1850’s to see how their acceptance of slavery now affects the country generations later for a perfect example. The sins of the fathers, shall we say. Your decisions to interpret scripture according to your moral values and not in the light of God’s love destroys many. Jesus specifically instructed his followers to “love your neighbor as yourself “ but you constantly judge those who do not think, act, or look like you. You say you walk in the way of God, but in the small details of your lives, you are willing to compromise with the world. I know that what I say here will not change your stand in anyway, but I hope some of you will realize that by being so rigid, you could be deeply wounding people you know. Jo Lynn Settle Hartwell
