Wasn't the show it was supposed to be, that came later. But this has to be the highlight of this show, and quite possibly the best LLR ever

Going through the rain storm of a long lifetime and the song and version have always hit me particularly hard….but now….wow…..thank you GD
Unbelievable day! Drove from Port Jefferson.
Notice no 70s versions on my list. The song went to whole different level and vibe in the 80s.
LLR is the song that got me into the dead years ago. My fave.
My top 5 in order 1- may 6 1981 2- oct 31 1985 3-sept 20 1988 4-may 15 1980 5- oct 10 1982 Just my opinion. I can flip flop 2-5 depending on my mood. But 5-6-81 is the best. Its the one i fall asleep to every night. Would love to see others top 5.
2nd best version ever 5-6-81 is number 1
Really good version. So smooth and silky in the latter half of Fire. They kind of drop the ball in the outro though.
this scarlet fire is incredibile, although this concert has the worst sugar mag ever. Trainweck version
This year marks my 50th year a Deadhead. Where does the time go? Much love
THE BEST!
This was the first Dead show at Giants stadium. I was there. Opening acts were Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Real nice time.

Ha Ha nice graphic!
i am a dancing bear...i am a dancing bear...i am
Too bad this show was cut short when Jerry was spotted by a cop smoking junk during drums and they had to pull the plug and flee. This really excellent Scarlet Fire shows the band teetering on the abyss - their powers are intact but their demise is already visible. Very sad.
how many valgine can you count?
One and only

2/4/22: This. Is an experience. Too beautiful for words. I was laughing so hard because it’s too beautiful for words. 💕
Meadowlands? Then they stopped CHINA CAT/I KNOW YOU RIDER.
These excerpts of THE GRATEFUL DEAD you post, IAN, are stellar! Awesome version!!!
Great LOSER IAN put up some more Grateful Dead. You've got incredible singles from great shows.
IAN KING, this LOOKS LIKE RAIN is outstanding! INCREDIBLE LOOKS LIKE RAIN! Thanks for the upload 🌬 💋
Garcias, and the bands for that matter, particular blend of cocaine this evening should be analyzed, mass produced, and put in the Smithsonian.....Phil is particularly jammed up during scarlet
This my most numerologically related Dead performance. I am drawn to the date.
New Riders and Willie Nelson opened. Top notch show.
Lord how fortunate I am to have been to this show...
Love when Jerry and mr. Weir were in perfect sync near the end when Donna stepped aside for one heaven of a jam straight through to the core, You two sounded awesome during chase the lightning go Jerry go Bobby and Phil are coming closer LMAO
I love when Jer took some extra laps of the Scarlet instrumental. It meant he was playing well and was confident. ..and how he made it different every time - and often brilliant - at least in the post-hiatus, Godchaux period, from when Scarlet met Fire...April, 77?
In the back groun of that jam it sounds like Bob Weir is replacing a brokestring while Jerry was extending the jam ,coving up for weir to get the string changed . The sound of a string being tuned is heard inthe background and jerry's extended jam adds up to an excellentr cover up of a broken string in the middle of a great jam
WOW PHIL IS ON 🔥!!!!
He’s dropping fresh biscuits
Graat tune! Love the hook!
Love the reverb at the end, awesome version.
Dick Latvala thinks this as the best Scarlet > Fire in Dead history.
Jerry's solo during Scarlet before the last verse may be the best he's olayed. Its incredible, not one bad note and he's reaching for new heights the whole time. It peaks perfectly, its incredibly lyrical and it has some unique riffs even for Jerry. Keith is playing well too

And not for nothin' but almost, one might go So we did, 10,000 of us went everywhere on the road. went to a show, as if one show would be enough, A show, the 4th was golden, then 10 and then a tour{(~)ten tours={(~) a life lost' n found
best 80's version ever if not just all time period. jerry's runs are beyond superb. bobby gets weirder than any other rendition, the crescendo is an absolute revelation.
1st time hearing. SPECTACULAR.
this is why Jerry is one of the premier players of my time.
