How is Microsoft SO terrible at making a usable email client? This should be so simple for end users. The workaround in this video for the web app does not even work. Outlook removes the styles in the HTML I wrote after I hit send.
When I paste, content does not center. It goes towards the left. Also, when I read it in the cell phone, the fonts are too small. It does not reflect what it previews in cell phone screen at all.
Hi there 🙂 If you've used Publicate for this, our team will be happy to troubleshoot this for you. Just send us a note via our in-app chat when you're logged in or send an email to hello@publicate.it and we'll assist you further 🙌 Or if you didn't use Publicate previously, you're welcome to give it a go via ou 14-day free trial from app.publicate.it/signup. 🚀
Can anyone help me? so I have a PDF i converted to HTML? I got my code, but when I paste the code, it comes out very chopped up. All my images are cut in half. I'm not sure why?
GM bro. You saved me! Thank you!
Thank you, will give it a try. You have a very pleasant voice.
Glad it helped and thank you! ☺
I right click to edit as html on my mack and nothing happens i coded this email its my first time and im stuck at this part as i dont seem to find any way to emebed my code successfully anywhere its very frustrating like is it always that hard ??
Hey there :) If you use Outlook on the web, we explain at 1.25 that the right click and edit as HTML method no longer works so we show you a workaround 🙂 Or if you use the Outlook desktop app on Mac, it's even easier, watch from 2:33 . OR if you don't want to bother with code anymore and just make it simple, give Publicate free 14-day trial a go from app.publicate.it/signup (no card details required) and chat with us if you have any questions We also have a new 3 min demo of our brand new version which you’ll find here ua-cam.com/video/oYGnLfm-z5A/v-deo.html . See you soon in the app!
I'm definitely going to look into Publicate. It's very frustrating to design something in Outlook that looks great, and then discover that in, for example, Gmail the formatting looks terrible. That's for introducing me to Publicate.
Great to hear this, Terry! You're welcome to start your free-14 day trial here: app.publicate.it/signup (no card details required) and chat with us if you have any questions 🙂 We also have a new 3 min demo you'll find here ua-cam.com/video/oYGnLfm-z5A/v-deo.html . See you soon in the app!
First of all THANK YOU in advance for the tutorial, this is how we are doing it but for some people Outlook is not sending the images (like logo png and social media icons) all the code is HTML and using inline styling with encoded images as well (base64). Would you happen to know how to troubleshoot to find where is the mistake?
Hey there :) Well, we can't help troubleshoot your code but let's just say you wouldn't have those issues if you were using Publicate 😉 It's very easy to recreate what you set up in code through the drag-and-drop editor. Ig you want to give it a go, you to start your free-14 day trial here: app.publicate.it/signup (no card details required) and chat with us if you have any questions 🙂 We also have a new 3 min demo you'll find here ua-cam.com/video/oYGnLfm-z5A/v-deo.html . where do I make email templates like that??

Hello, thanks for this amazing content. One doubt, I have to host the images of the HTML?
Thanks for your positive feedback. It depends on which method you use. You won't need to if you use Publicate but if you got your HTML code from a third party such as DesignModo, you might need to host images so if don't use Publicate and use another service, best to check with them :)
On the desktop app for Mac, copy/pasting doesn't work. We loose some formatting.
Hi there, if you've used the code provided by Publicate using the free 14-day trial, we'll be happy to help, just reach out via the in-app chat :) Also, if you use Outlook or Gmail, we recommend using our Add-in or extensions.
thanks for the video ..its working!! but when i paste a webpage all the back ground color is coming on top and the sentences are pasted below email body ...any advice????

How do u change your pdf file to html
Hi there, It sounds like you want the PDF to show as the body of the newsletter but Publicate is not a tool to convert another type of document into an HTML email . That said, we created the Editor to be super easy to use. This video tutorial (ua-cam.com/video/Uv7EfEISx0M/v-deo.html) will give you an idea of how fast it is to create in our editor. You're welcome to start your free14-day trial from this page app.publicate.it/signup and see how you get on 🙂

Thanks so much for your feedback, Carlos! We're so happy you found it helpful 😊
Using chrome developer tools to change the html is great. Problem is when we send the email, and it gets all distorted. Didn't work after that gimmick. The second method of copy/paste html to the email worked fine (used copy the html from safari and paste to chrome outlook web). But then again I'm stuck with just sending a pretty email with no metrics, and now searching for some newsletter funcionality on Sharepoint, so I know what goes on such as how many open, how many delete, and so on. Thanks anyway it's a great video, but only to make an adversite of Publicate addon for Office 365. Thanks!
Hey there, Actually Outlook is well known for impacting code and creating discrepancies, not to mention, the Outlook Web version and the Desktop version don't always support the same features (for example the Dekstop version doesn't support round edges or background images) so it's unfortunately not surprising that you had that experience. Publicate offers solutions though: our Outlook integrations were created specifically to protect your newsletter code and make sure that Outlook doesn't impact it. If you'd like to give it a go and see the results for yourself, you're welcome to start a free 14-day trial from app.publicate.it/signup (no cc is required and you'll have access to your account immediately). Plus with Publicate you'll get analytics too: Opens, Clicks, Clicks per Open, Newsletters shares, Content share and more audience insights 🎉😊
@@Publicate-Email-Builder Newsletter analytics are really useful. It seems that outlook web is really difficult with code discrepancies, and in the overall it seems not so easy maintain the message formats as outlook evolves. Thanks for the tips and the 14-day trial.
@@APak-ko4rp You're very welcome 😊
Hi, I am able to get seeing the HTML in my email, but when I send it, it does not show. Am I missing a step? Thank you!
Hi there, if you've sent your email using Publicate, please contact us on chat and we'll get this sorted asap 😊 (Our in-app chat is available in the bottom right corner if the editor (the little orange bubble) or from the Help section in the top right corner.)
Hi, my html design is animated. how can i make it work on outlook from web version to desktop version
Hi Sarah, it sounds like your animation doesn't happen in the Outlook desktop app and it does in the Desktop app. This wouldn't be a surprise since the Outlook desktop app is a little bit outdated compared to its online version. There are many things the desktop doesn't support such as background images, and round edges on buttons and unless Outlook decides to change this, there's no much you can do but hope people look at your email from Outlook on the web and/or other email providers that are also online and support more options.
Hey is it just me or is publicate not working if i want to use a preexisting email template
Hi Nicole, did you create a newsletter template without Publicate and would like to import it into Outlook via the Publicate Outlook add-in or extension? Both allow to import newsletters created in Publicate only so if you created your template somewhere else, you can use either use the 'Paste' code method shown at 00:49 onward. Or you're welcome to start your free 14-day trial to Publicate (app.publicate.it/signup) which should allow you to recreate your template within minutes and then you can use our extension and/or add in :)
@@Publicate-Email-Builder thanks for the response! I have been able to create the template, can you guide on how to extract the html file? or even being able to copy because when i view the page source from the editor i am getting different source code not my html code
@@nicolekinda5992 Great to hear you've joined the free Publicate trial, Nicole 🎉 You can download the newsletter HTML by clicking the 'Publish' button in the top right corner when your newsletter is opened (see the last option 'Download HTML' on that window). That being said, since you send via Outlook, it's probably much easier to use our dedicated integrations you can access from the sane 'Publish' button, then click the Outlook icon. Also, we have an in-app chat that is always present in the bottom right corner (the little orange bubble) so feel free to reach out to the team there in the future 🙂

I tried to click (Option + Command + J) but it is not working in my outlook
Hi Khalil, This works on Chrome so make sure to use the right browser. If you don't see the console as per the tutorial, you might want to check that the console didn't open in a new tab or window (it might do so depending on your browser settings). Additionally, if the shortcut doesn't seem to bring up anything, you need to check your keyboard settings especially if using a Bluetooth keyboard as the settings determine what the keys do. Alternatively, if you don't want to bother with these shortcuts and pasting HTML code, check out the Publicate method shown from 3 min39 in the video😉
Anyone else thiink that voice was Leila Gharani ... the excel woman? ha ha ... anyway, great tip on CTRL-SHIFT-J. Publicate might get me part way through my challenge. I have users that use a spreadsheet to send out offers on products. There are several line items and things like discounts, location, time of year affects the number. I want them to key in their data on the spreadsheet and then punch a "magic button" (power automate?) ... the idea would be that the spreadsheet calculations would be used in the one-off email messages. Key in your numbers, push a button, a really nice email message is created with the data and is ready to send. Now, is that so hard ... :)
In eM Client you can edit the source code without any problem. It's a built-in feature. Just right click and select "Edit Source" 😊
thank you so much you saved my life with this tutorial
😃🙌 That's what we like to hear! You're welcome, Hamza. Here's to a great 2024 filled with newsletter success! 🎉

Thank you so much. We're very happy to hear this is helpful 😊
so.....? you did not show how to embed HTML in Publicate,,, you totally went to the templates section ... so .. This is just an advertorial, not a tutorial. ?
Hi there, It is both really: if you watch the full tutorial you can see that we do show you how to embed HTML in Outlook at first and then offer Pubilcate as an alternative for people who don't want to bother with HTML code and all the extra steps (see from 3.18 the introduction to Publicate). It's completely free to try also for 14 days, no cc required so nothing to lose if you want to give it a go 🙂 (publicate.it/signup)
Hi, great video, however I cannot find Edit as HTML on a MAC. Do I need to turn on Dev Tools. I looked for it and still doesn't show. Any advise?
Hi there, Outlook stopped providing the 'Edit as Html' option, however, you can follow the instructions from 1min 27 using keyboard shortcuts cmd+option+J if you use a Mac (or ctrl + shift + J if you use on PC). This works on Chrome so make sure to use the right browser. If you don't see the console as per the tutorial, you might want to check that the console didn't open in a new tab or window (it might do so depending on your browser settings). Additionally, if the shortcut doesn't seem to bring up anything, you need to check your keyboard settings especially if using a Bluetooth keyboard as the settings determine what the keys do. hello ! I converted a PDF to HTML and then added it to Outlook as you suggested. After that, the email body looked like the same PDF template. However, when I forwarded the email, the HTML display changed. What should I do?
Hi there :) The best thing to do if you have any issue/question after using Publicate is to reach out via the in-app chat and to send us your email newsletter Share link (you'll get it from the 'Share' button). Different email providers can sometimes impact the HTML code and we have designed specific add-ins and extensions for Outlook that can help you with that.
This made my life so much easier! So grateful. Thank you
Thanks for letting us know Lia! It's really great to hear and exactly what we aim for 😃 Have an awesome day! - The Publicate team
this doesnt work. it just looks like a white screen for other people
Hi Yasmine, that sounds pretty odd. Are you saying that you sent a newsletter and your recipients received a blank page? If you've used the second method, feel free to reach out via Publicate in-app chat and we'll be happy to help you troubleshoot this 😊 Or if you got stuck using the 1st method, you can give Publicate a go via the Free 14-day trial. No card details is required and you'll have access to your dashboard within a minute 🙌 Just use this link anytime you'd like to start: publicate.it/signup
also insepct isnt a option anymore
@@LewDonley - That's right, Outlook removed this option unfortunately but there's a keyboard shortcut you can use instead 🎉 Once you've selected the word or emoticon you added to the email draft, if you're a PC user type Ctrl+shift+J OR if you're a Mac user Cmd + Option + J . This will open the Browser console and you'll need to go to the 'Elements' tab to replace the HTML code with your own and continue as per the video from 1min 56 🙂 Or if you don't want to bother with these shortcuts and code anymore, check out the alternative method using Publicate ( explained from 2.56 in this video) 👍
@@Publicate-Email-Builder Hi! whenever I press cmd + option + j, nothing happens. Is there another shortcut?
@@chynachanel Hi Chyna, this shortcut works in Chrome so you might need to switch the web browser you use. very rubbish platform!!! you gets cant sell shit by randomly deleting peoples account for no reason
This worked Great in Edge - do you know how to do it in Firefox?
Hi there :) if you meant to use the first method pasting HTML code, there's no shortcut available with Firefox and the current outlook options it seems. However, you can definitely use the second method using Publicate and the 'Publish' button option as shown here ua-cam.com/video/B2B4ZJn4kWU/v-deo.html (the example is with Yahoo but this will work anywhere) .
Very good!!

@@Publicate-Email-Builder Thank you looking forward to test it
Thanks for sharing - Can I add this to meetings in outlook calendar body of the invite ?
Hi there :) Usually, people share their newsletters or templates via email, however you probably could actually add to your Outlook Calendar invite what we call the ' Share link' of your newsletter. This is a private URL which your readers can click on and it opens your newsletter in their web browser. If you want to test this for free, start your free 14 days trial from the following page: publicate.it/signup and then use the 'Share' button at the top of the editor to get your Share link :)
This is not the new outlook though.. The old menu has all those options, while the new one doesn't even have "save as".
Hi there, can you please confirm which part of the video mentions a 'save as' option? As per the video, you wouldn't need it anyway to create email templates. Also, this was the updated version of Outlook at the time of the video and it hasn't much changed since so your Outlook might simply look different depending on your settings or if you use a Mac. You might want to check your Ribbons options especially as you can customize them ( see more here: support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/video-customize-the-ribbon-9ce81e05-ecc1-4142-a3e3-1298b37a59c6)
Hello , I liked how simple it is to use. I'd like to ask you a question. Is there any way the receiver can avoid downloading the image? I don't think anyone noticed or wasted their time downloading the pictures in the marketing email. Thank you
Hi Ahmet, thank you for your positive feedback. Also, if you're referring to the 'download' icon that can show in the bottom right corner of newsletter images, it's an option provided by default by the email providers so not something anyone can change. That being said, as you pointed out, most people will just ignore it and won't bother with downloading images since they can already see them in the email. I hope this helps :)
Thank you so much. Very helpful.
You're very welcome, Theresa. If you've started the free 14-day trial, we'll be happy to assist you further via chat anytime so feel free to reach out 🙂
