"Small Wins" follows the story of James Chansbury, a passionate runner from the Perth Distance Project. This documentary showcases James's pursuit of the Western Australian national qualifying time for the 5000m of 15:37.
would be so funny if your second body was a phone disguised as a dslr
haha, gonna have to have someone engineer that for me so I can trick people into thinking I used a professional camera.
Do you have any tips? Leave them down below.
Lovely audience ❤
A was the professional camera, B was the beginner!!
Kindly elaborate the difference
The subject can have the same size in the image, but the background will get bigger as you go longer
Found this from instagram Awesome job, I love the color grade!
Thanks!! Will be making more in the future!!
What was your first camera?
Which is your favourite?

Thank you!!
Awesome film

Congrats on the doc debut Yosh! And congrats to James for qualifying for Nationals!

🤫🧏🏻♂️
Why would I use it in my house .
You might if you don't have a strobe or need a portrait of some sort in your home
Do you use speedlights?
Which do you use the most?
LoL he bought 2! I'm still using kit lens😪
One day brother!!! 🫵
Which would you pick?
Have you been here??
Can it make my pp big
You're gonna be a big youtuber for sure!!!! Keep the good work up
Thanks for the kind words!!! I hope so!
You’ve just explained what it does - widens the view and distorts it , that’s the first thing anyone would notice after using wide angle lens
Thanks for your input!!! That's true, but my point being the distortion creates certain effects. For example making things look bigger than they are. Which is something a beginner or someone who doesn't do photography wouldn't know!
I had a bit of stage fright doing this
I've seen quite a few people make this mistake
How many times has premiere pro crashed on you?
you are a very good youtuber ngl
Thanks for your kind words!!
Who knew a wide angle lens, would make things look wide angle 😂
Exactly
Do you suffer from #impostersyndrome ?
hey that photo looks great!
Personally prefer the before photo tbh 🤷
What helped me a lot with my overall art is understanding that everything you create should have intent. As in: what do you intend to show here? Now this can vary, but sticking to the video I think a lot of picture mistakes can be accrued to the fact that people want to capture too many things at once, and not focus on the one thing they want to show. For example, the bridge picture you showed. Did it intend to show the subject in it? If that's the case, then why is there so much space capturing the surroundings? This only distracts from it. There's a great video by James Popsys about exposure where he basically explains you shouldn't worry about blowing up highlights or turning the shadows all the way down if this helps your picture focus on one subject, and it helps you realize that a common mistake we make is trying to always take the perfect HDR picture of our scene, and it really doesn't need to be like that. And once you realize that photography has no rules, but tools & suggestions, that's where you can take your art to the next level.
Yup absolutely agree!!! It goes along the lines of how photojournalism operates, and why it's my favourite form of photography! Another example you can use is with compositional rules, you can sometimes break compositional rules if there is a reason and effect to do so!! Like a subject looking up might need more headspace in the composition to tell a story!
@@PhotoVenturesWithYosh ohh that's one of my favorites, once you get comfortable with breaking the rule of thirds you start to realize how much of the frame you could be using, favorite example would be Isle of Dogs by Wes Anderson
Absolutely
Great points. I recently started learning photography and would love to get tips from you. Keep posting regularly.
Keep your eyes peeled!!! Will keep an official schedule soon
Great tips!
No worries!! Happy to help! Will be making more videos in the coming days!
But my phone have 500MP and nifty fifty F1.2 lens 😳 why does it sux? 🤔 Oh right, MP is nothing compared to the optics.
Your phone has 500 MP????
Keep in mind too, your phone has a smaller sensor than a full frame camera, so you'll suffer on quality there!!
Bruh, this has to be the most straight to the point video I have ever seen. Great tips!
No Worries brother!! More to come in the future!!
Good to know
Ah yes the stick flys
Wahahahaha
That flying case from Hitman became a stick with GoPro on it. Reincarnation as it should be.
And here is our new invation, THE STICK. For the price of only 9999$ you can get your own STICK
Still cheaper than a lot of drones 😂
XD THIS MADE ME LAUGH😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
