Experience Australia part 82
After a quick pitstop in Cairns for some small repairs we catch the historic train to the mountain village of Kuranda. The train winds its way up the hills through dense rainforest with spectacular views out to the coast and surrounding jungle below. Passing through a few tunnels we stop at some waterfalls including the famous Barron Falls which has a huge drop. Kuranda village is at the end of the line and includes some great shops and pubs. Its also home to their markets which is a real varied mix of stuff from gifts to fine art and all sorts of food. We spend most of the day talking to friendly locals and soaking in the cool vibe of this place. To get back down we take the Skyrail gondola which soars above the canopy. The station halfway along lets you see Barron Falls from the other side and we listen in on a talk from the Ranger. Just a quick stop at the beautiful Palm Cove township then onto one of the most scenic drives in Australia we follow the coast to get to Mossman and stay at Creeks Edge Park where we will leave the van behind to explore Cape York.
Staying for a few days we go to Port Douglas for a look and a walk through the amazing Mossman Gorge. This was a great week i love this whole area and will keep coming back here there is so much.
