This is completely nonsense I been a driver for 7 years the lower my rate ever dropped was 4.98 I’m always at 5 star🤷🏽but I failed background check cause I fail to pay an assessment fee to the DMV that resumed to a one day suspension when obviously was a mistake from the DMV cause I never received the bill🤔once I was aware of it I paid it right away and got my license restored🤷🏽but I was still not able to drive🤦🏽7 years of providing great service and let go like for no reason🤦🏽

It depends on the city you live in and what lift pays you per mile in that city. I did over 10,000 rides in 2.5 years for Lyft in a busy city, VEGAS. But it's one of the lowest paid cities in the country. So I did a lot of cash rides. Told cool customers to call me and I'd drive them the whole time they were in town. For cheaper than Lyft would charge. So if they were going down to Fremont st, and it cost $28 on the app. I'd take them and tell them to call me when they were ready to go home and I'd take them for $20. And I'd keep all of it. Fuck Lyft!!!! Paying us .21 cents per mile. Then they told me I couldn't give my number to have people call me and have them request a ride when I got there. Yeah fuck that. Lyft made it impossible to make money. Then you get potheads that smoke up right before they get in your car. Make your whole car smell, and your next passengers think your toking. So driving where pot is legal was also a challenge. He's right you can make $1000 a week, you just have to drive in a good busy city and work every day. Lots of miles. But it is possible. Now if you are on the rental program with Lyft. It's almost impossible after the $280 you pay per week for the car.

The guarantee isn’t that high in VA. It’s $12-$18 if you do 3 ride without canceling in that hour. I’ve never seen it higher. Now It’s at super sporadic times. They were doing ride guarantees for being paid out the rest If you don’t get a certain dollar amount in a certain number of rides but they started to decrease the dollar amount and increase the number of rides. Sooo basically I’m going off tips now. And over here even with good service, courteousness and a clean car tips are few and far between as well.
