DJI MINI 2 - Mablethorpe - Kawasaki Z1000SX - Triumph Sprint ST
Little trip out to Mablethorpe, was planning on having footage of the ride but footage was poor!
Hopefully the next ride will be better.

Akrapovic Exhaust Baffle Removal, Kawasaki Z1000sx 2017-2019.

Here is a little tutorial on how i removed the baffles from my exhaust. Hope you enjoy and please subscribe. This is my first video edit so please be kind....they will improve. (Filmed on GoPro Hero5)
Hello. Would you know if the Ninja 1000 SX Sports Tourer Akro is similar? I want some noise. Just a bit more. Please
But why?. You still have the cat in and stock mufflers so it will not sound any different until you remove them, then you will want to put the baffle back in those end pipes :)
Is that definitely a baffle? Looks like a piece of metal that just protects the carbon fibre from melting. But not you have a 15mm hole for additional exhaust ventilation.
If you want a louder sound fit the Lextek Headers .
Can you explain this further please? I’m interested
Didn’t need to remove the can from the bike nor drill a hole in a $1000 set of cans to remove the DB Killer. WTF?
Clearly you do.
Yeah thats a hard no. Won't be drillin the end cone on mine and leaving an ugle arse hole in it.
Keep your crappy sounding exhausts then 👌 a couple of carbon fiber round stickers and you can't tell, even without them the angle of the exhausts when refitted you can't see unless inspecting.
Guys you don’t have to destroy your exhaust by drilling a hole in the side. Spend the $12 bucks on rivets and get a rivet gun. Then just take the cap off. Take out the baffle and remove the 8mm nut holding it in. Throw that shit in the trash and rebuild. Took me all of an hour and you can’t tell that I did anything to it.
That was my initial thought but I wanted easy access to reinstall easily without redrilling rivets every time. Your method is the better option for a permanent fix 👍
I wish you had videoed it for us to see.
2017 z1000 does it same?
Mask off your pipe in case the drill slips and do a smaller pilot hole to check you are right place before using the large drill bit. By a rubber grommet from acrapovic for the exterior hole. Just removed baffle on 2021 ninja 1000sx. Sounds great 👌🏻
Congrats! you have just fuked up your new exhausts !
How so?
Stupid comment, he improved it you bellend
I did the same after watching his video and it's day and night difference!
Does it work on the same way at «akrapovis designed for mt125»?
Plug fell in, and I can’t take off the damn baffle. I’m gonna drive and see if the heat makes it removable cuz holy crap it’s a tight A fit
That doesnt sound good! Did you get them out?
This was a huge help, thank u sooo much. Did exactly as you showed, it was fairly easy. The sound is sooo much better. That small hole on the inside everybody, just get over it. It’s really worth it.
I can't believe I drilled my brand new akrapovic exhaust!. Why don't they made something that can be removed in a easy way... like yoshimura did.... Thanks for the great advice!!!!!
My friend has the same akrapovic exhaust as me. His comes with a hole but mine doesn't have it. Maybe they were made in different years?
@@Dennyyy he bought it new?
I think it's because of regulations. They're not allowed to make it in a way that implies it is meant to be removed because it only passes the sound checks with the baffle installed.
Anway to plug the hole you drill?
I just bought a round carbon effect sticker off ebay to cover the hole, you could buy a rubber grommet to fit the hole size you cut out if you are planning on removing and reinstalling the baffles often 👍
Acrapovic do a branded rubber bung to go on the exterior hole. £8 inc postage.
Did you not prefer a full line exhaust 4x2 or 4x1 for just a bit more expensive ? Great video by the way 🙂
Thanks, maybe in the future for sure!
Tem que abrir a marmita, na parte de baixo, retirar a colmeia, dai sim, fico um ronco super bacana. Fiz assim na minha ninja. Tem um video no youtube que ensina.
Can you give us the measure between the edge of the silencer and the center of the hole you made ?
Thanks very useful please me we can we reinstall the baffle inside once we remove it ???
Yes it can be reinstalled
@@tommyb17 am using now as plug in and out
Hello! Thanks for the video: I just make the modification on mine by following your tutorial. Just a little modification for the hole, it was closer from 10 mm than 15 mm on my pair of Akra. Thanks man!
Nicely done.👍
Thanks Chris Collins
definitely cant tell from the video was there honestly a big enough sound difference to make it worth it?
There is a huge difference, but you will never hear it through mic, because it's low frequency. I didn't like that owner drilled hole in carbon :D Otherwise, nice hack.
love that colour so much
