Morphin v1.7: bake animation
Переглядів 17014 днів тому
Get Morphin: apps.apple.com/au/app/morphinapp/id6642651792 You can use the recording feature to bake down anim clips, very handy! This work for IK handles too, just remember to delete the IK handles after you bake.

Tutorial of how I rigged this trashcan and animated a silly performance. It was based on a suggestion of how to match a great animation by CamTheCan, check him out! linktr.ee/CamTheCan Get Morphin: apps.apple.com/au/app/morphinapp/id6642651792

Question from the discord, was easier to explain with a video. General tips about using spotlights, environment light, roughness, post-processing to match some illustration reference

Thanks for the video,Matt. Much appreciated.
A distant relative of Gumby, perhaps? 🤔🍷🎩
the gritty live action remake
Hey Matt…I love this. ✊ It fills a need. A seamless integration of Nomad & Morphin (& Procreate) and we’re off to the races! Great beginning, very good stuff. I guess I’m out $25. 🤔🍷🎩🎩🎩🙏
Heh, pay that $25 to the app dev, not me. :) Yeah I really like Morphin, sure there's bugs and missing things, it's unfair to compare a 2 month old app to a 5 year old app as polished and amazing as Nomad, but it feels like it's on the right track, I'm having loads of fun with them both.
@@mattestela…thanks, yeah sorry I crossed wires…appreciate your explorations with this app. There’s a lot of power here, even in it’s primitive version. It compliments nomad & I hope it grows. 🤔🍷🎩✌️
Great video. I love the build up from the bare basics. I need that. One question…..can animations like from Mixamo (or somewhere else) be imported into Morphin and hooked up to your custom character ? Same question for motion capture data. If not is that on the horizon for the app ?
you can import glb animation clips, you could try a fbx to glb converter
Just tried it, works!
@@mattestela Thanks for the quick answer, Matt.
@@mattestela I see there are a lot of free fbx to glb converter sites/tools. Any that you recommend ?
@@mattestelaCurrently can a 2D image or a 3D item like terrain or a 3-walled room be imported … to serve as a background/backdrop for character animation ?
Thanks for the vid.
Great video mate.
Awesome Matt. You made my day. Quick Question? What is "Houdini" doing in Google ?!!!🤔
Thanks matte. GIF Images are missing in tokeru joyofvex. Why?
ugh, new publishing workflow. its past midnigiht here, i'll fix tomorrow.
oh, fixed already! thanks to @vochsel, he's amazing
Thanks for the tutorials, Morphin is an incredible App.
Where I can find this software???
Search for morphinapp on the iOS app store
@ found it, thanks 😊
Great video. To paint the iris / pupil you could have used the face groups / hide to isolate the areas ... But I'm sure you know that... 😉 The most important point for me was - I always forgot to switch cast shadows OFF. 👍
A side note as I learned a TON from this awesome video, if you are painting near edges and want to avoid overlap but paint right up to the edge, under filter in the pen/stroke settings. Change the angle in keep sharp edges. I practiced your method and changed the angle of keep sharp edges to 39 degrees and I was able to paint all around and the edge inside my iris fast.
great tip!
Thanks for the video, this is gonna help with a lot of sculpts. 👍
looks very good! how long did it take to make it?
about 2 hours in total
@@mattestela nice!
this is very helpful! Thanks
Excellent work!!
Awesome, mate. 😎
Thank you sir ! Well explained
I can’t figure out how to make that shortcut in Shortcuts. I’m trying to do it on an iPhone. Not sure if the iPad features some additional software.
i tried on my phone just now, it still works. I saved the shortcut to icloud, see if this works for you : www.icloud.com/shortcuts/311ffe90b3eb407c9c28c6fd56558ff8
Thank you so much! Is there a way to start service like this with HQueue on client machines?
not sure; i've only used tops with hqueue where each render machine starts up from scratch every time. maybe ask sidefx?
Have you use the masking feature? I was surprised that there was no way to invert the mask. This must be a beta version of this node. I certainly hope that SideFX keeps developing this node and doesn’t abandon it. This could be very interesting if they keep going
Honestly I used it this once as a proof of concept, nothing more. Nomad is too comfortable and its right there *points at ipad*. Definitely send in those RFEs to sidefx though, I'm sure they want to keep improving it!
Nice! Great work
I started my morning with this. I am having a good day thanks to you :)
You can't leave any field untouched, do you, Matt? =))) I remember back in a day of Pentium 486 - there was some software that was so easy to use and it was so powerful for stuff like that. I tried couple of times to find it, but nothing looks familiar enough. I remember I Was doing music at 14 like that and it was epic.
I just got one the other day and I love it
the guitar is a sample; i typed 'classic funk' into Spotify, the first result was 'Secret Rendezvous' by René & Angela. Held my phone up to the KO2 mic, sampled, chopped into this. Drums and bass are using stock sounds.
im digging this dude. are these all stock sounds or did you sample anything?
Dope 🖖💪💪🙌🙌🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice. Love the drums.
Anyone else think that was a calculator?
yeah pretty sure that's by design. :)
Niceeee :)
this ROCKS
How do I upload my own lighting?
You mean your own environment map? lighting menu, click on the env map image, 'import'
why can't i selct a facegroup with one click? i can mask a whole group with one click, but not hide 🤷
It should work; make sure the facegroup button is enabled in the hide toolbar at the top. I just tested in the web demo, works there.
@@mattestela yes, it was obvious in your video. I'm using the ipad btw, should have said with one "tap". still not working. if I find it out tho, I'll tell. and thanks for the reply and the great video
@@lochalo2894 hmm, maybe try the webdemo on your ipad ( www.nomadsculpt/demo ), see if it works there? might be a bug in the release build. The only other thing I can think of is if you've customised the stylus/finger/mouse interaction stuff in the preferences, maybe thats affecting the tap detection.
Thanks a lot for this video, this opens so much to explore!!! I think would be nice a Masterclass by SideFX about this.... the cache time difference is MASSIVE! I wonder what's the counterpart of using services
Glad you found it useful! Tops changes and improves with every release, its worth reading the docs to make sure my notes here are still relevant. :)
Sweet! Let the Houdini sculpt timelapses begin!
Don’t know how you are joining everything without your UVs going to hell. In my case basically the frog paint ends up all over the chair.
order of operations is important. i start with a bunch of vertex painted separate objects. i combine, decimate, generate uvs, bake to textures in that exact order. if you mess with that order or those assumptions (eg you're starting with objects from somewhere else that have textures, or generate uv's before combining), you'll probably get the issues you describe.
Very helpful. Thank you.
damn! its awesome matt
Matt did you made these tools yourself?
Is it destructive?
Does the person you send it to need the app in order to see it via ar?
no, you can just send them the usdz file.
Excellent tutorial, especially the step by step approach. Could you do a tutorial for moving a character walking across the room? Everyone always does in-place leg animations, I want to be able to animate a character actually travelling
I'm not much of an animator!
人間の顔は創れるのですが、存在する誰かの顔に似せるのは本当に難しいです。 有益な動画をシェアしてくれてありがとう☺️
Can we export the subject to blender after post process and will it look the same in blender while we enable texture ?
No unfortnately. Blender's compositing stack has most if not all the colour correction features of nomad's post process stack, so should be relatively easy to rebuild.
Explained perfectly 👌 thanks
That's amazing 😊
Nice video Matt
