I love the caveat at the end. I havent heard such nonsense, contradictory advice in a long time. Guys, just be yourself and work hard.

Nice to hear this. This all sounds so positive. Yes I agree, the hospitality is a great place to work, it is a way of life and can not think of a better place to work. I have been in the industry for almost 40 years. It is a great character building industry and there are great careers to be had, it is hard but very rewarding. Everyone should experience working in this industry, it's not just for students, hours can be worked around family life. May I suggest look behind the scene that business owners have to face. It has been a very hard time for the industry over recent years. I know how hard the BII are working for the industry re the business rates and energy prices, but I think an in-depth look is needed for the business such as rent and how landlords are increasing rents beyond the business capacity and they are not repairing the buildings. Many pubs operate with poor fitting windows, poor insulation, old electrics etc. Some landlords are great business partners, but they are few and far between. I feel this should be highlighted.
