I first heard the Israeli National Anthem after the tragic events of Oct. 7, 2023 in Israel, and I was moved by the beauty of the harmony, melody, and lyrics. I decided to write this arrangement to apply some of the Barry Harris concepts I've been studying with Chris Parks.
My heart goes out to all the victims of senseless, tribal violence in Israel and all over the world. My heart particularly goes out to the young families who were murdered just as they were starting out their lives. There is no greater crime conceivable than that of robbing young parents the gift of raising children and of taking from children their precious gift of life.
