The launch for console is going to be shit show lol. Everyone is going to hit a pay wall 15 mins into the game and just drop the game.

I have said this many times in the discord. but ill say it here because some people arent listening. console CANNOT have account linking gamigo needs the fresh player data from the console port to determine if its worth investing in an engine migration for wiz. The only path forward for wiz is an engine migration as the training costs for new devs is really slowing down development.

I don't mind it not being cross platform. I don't care that we have to start over. Y'all are spoiled. Just take it as it is and play the game if u want. If u don't like it too bad. They talk about this like we haven't seen their abysmal handling of steam's version of wizard101 and needing a completely separate account. Oh course you can remedy this by moving the exe file from the normal wizard101 file form their site to the the folder of steam's wizard101 exe but that won't work on console and you are still not using a steam account all that does is make the game run form steam as a shortcut. They just want more money. They talk about delayed updates but look at the EU version (yeas i know the updates were handled by a company in the EU caslled Gameforge but come on, I heard their updates took up to a year and EU players complained about delayed updates). Then look at their launcher, this game is set up to be a gambling simulator because of how many packs they release. Constantly flashing it at your face to spend money. They want money so bad, advertise the game and maybe they could reach a similar number to "forknife" or as I call "forknut". Or how about the fact that they release certain perks like recently with their free membership for steam users only until November 10th, 2024. Where is the love for all players and just making arc 1 free, permanently. I expected more from Media and Games invest when they bought KI.

Yeah honestly like I said before at least allow people that grinded a account transfer to console or character transfer cause it’s unfair

No sorry it took way too long long for you to bring it to console if it was around level 60-100 sure I’d be down cause it was the update of the biggest dungeon for level 100 but not allowing people to at least transfer their save or get some type of bonus/reward for your PC account is bullshit allow players to transfer 1 wizard over to console at least otherwise don’t release it because the players that could own a PC finally get to play with mates that never wanted to own or could never afford a pc is just making things worse cause it’s such a grind not a bad thing it’s a lovely game and story but not giving a reward/ bonuses like XP or loot for players that’s been around for years 10+ at least hurts and says you don’t care about them just money

Blackmarket cancelled players whining and opening their virtual packs anyway. The thing is ki allow more trading options and make it less predatory micro transactions you make so much money on pet training and all the packs for gear.

Nintendo switch console player here umm we pay $20 per year for online and yes its a steal but for KI its $75 per year for only there game. You see the issue here??? Unless there willingly drop the price down to $40 for a year or unless someone is really dedicated to the game I doubt a switch player would be committed to wiz

Glad everyone’s on the same page, Kingsisle is constantly making terrible decisions based on executive decisions. They won’t just drop the pay to play model and see a surge of new players buying crowns. I think the membership money they get is a fraction of their total revenue. People get hooked and spend 10x what they would for membership if you GIVE THEM THE TIME TO PLAY THE GAME FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES!

shame they couldn't just make the server itself host the spells cast so that their sysyem updates in real time with any spell changes. Alos i have played for many many years and wanted to get my friends into it and the servers not being corss play makes it a non starter. i am not gonna pay for two accounts. Any sacrifices that have to be made to do cross play will pay off in the long run, without it i don't think this is going anywhere.

My two biggest hopes for wizard101 on consoles is that one if you’re paying for a console membership you get a wizard101 membership for no extra cost. The second hope can be considered a hot take but I hope getting the training points for free. I don’t know the changes that happened for arc 3 onwards.

Howdy, After my last post, I would like you to first consider what I am saying here and then combine it with my last post for a video. With all the issues KI is having with bugs, bots and content that is making the game unrecognizable; what if the move to console is a swan song for Wiz on computer?

I don’t know why it’s so hard for them to simply increase the bazaar inventory but allow the algorithm to not adjust the price table for sell value of items once past 100 item stock supply in the bazaar. It’s a win win for everyone as it makes it easier for wizards to get things that might otherwise have been sold out while also not hurting players as sellers too. Simple idea but they’re likely incapable of fixing ancient code or disagree with that commonly held philosophy by the playerbase.

So they cheaped out 🥰 that’s what I got from it. They didn’t want to shell out back then, and they still don’t want to now but enough community bullying is making them do something

These Devs are dumb as fuck. Its like Yugioh a "Childrens Card Game" there AINT any fucking children in this 15 yo game playing Max level Wizards. They dont know the demographic of their playerbase. Absolutely delusional.

Mostly agree with everything they're saying here, taking out the "black market" is not a bad thing IF they replace its functionality with sometime officially supported. The only reason the "black market" exists is because the game is severely lacking in ways of allowing players to efficiently trade items and other things of value.

Incompetent people working at kingsisle I see. Don’t wanna spend the necessary resources because of greed so likely console is going to die as well. You have to make investments and take risks for something as grand as this to work, because if you look at it this way: if it succeeds the game will see another golden age and rescue this dumb company. They literally have MGI, a big company, at their back for such investment, and MGI would probably follow through with it considering Wizard is its most profitable game

There’s absolutely 0 point in a console port without crossplay. Same thing with the steam port. Why would I spend another 10+ dollars on membership for a smaller user base and having to completely restart my character? The ENTIRE POINT. Of wizard101 on mobile and console was because WE wanted to be able to play on the go or on the couch without having to go on a laptop or desk. KI as usual proves they are completely incompetent. All this work for a console port just for it to be DOA. They may as well just make it completely f2p and at least give it a chance to swim.

I understand the limitations they are facing but this is hands down the single dumbest decision they've made to date. Wizard101 has survived exclusively off of a loving community. The whole reason for going to console would be to bring more people into the large pond of the game, instead they made a bunch of smaller ponds that are separate from the wider community. Genuinely makes no sense what so ever to bring it to console without cross-platform. It will die out faster than concord and prove to be the biggest waste of time the company has ever done
