Thanks for this! My C is one of the Blackburn trumpets you made - it's the best trumpet I've ever played and it's a joy to play! Thank you!
Peter, thank you for the very informative and thought out presentation on trumpet. I’m a Getzen player but your mouth pieces are super nice looking and your explanation of its design is very interesting. I don’t know if I will be in your neighborhood any time soon, but I would love to visit someday. Best wishes. Larry Tscharner
whattttttttttttttt!!!! that was amazingly beautiful 😍
"This is my, uh, Vizzutti Artist Model Picket Brass Mouthpiece." *proceeds to shred*
I must point out that even the big orchestral mouthpieces are pretty "focused" compared to what people were playing on back in the day on natural trumpets. 19-22mm was not uncommon, even on clarino pieces intended for use in the extreme high range up past the 20th partial. Cup shape and throat profile matter a lot.
Pickett could tweak the cup and throat of a Bach 1 1/4C a thousand times, but it would still be too big for me.
Name the song??
Hi, that's the cadenza that he does at Fire-dance. There are many videos of his Firedance performances on UA-cam.
Wow, poignant bit of time travel watching this on late 2023 - thinking Covid might go another month or two…
despite my tacky joke, this is a wonderfully informative video. Thanks for posting it. (I did get to try some of these trumpets at ITG and was very impressed).
Peter Pickett Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers....sorry, i couldn't resist.
Jesteś niesamowity mistrzu a ustnik to taki maly dodatek 🎺👍💥💪
Hey, Ich spiele das Yamaha Vizutti Mundstück und bin sehr begeistert. Was ist der Unterschied zu dem Pickett Vizutti Model?
Mestre 👏🏽🇧🇷
A Pickett 5D arrived today. It's the most efficient piece I've ever played.
Fera.
No es la flecha; es el Indio !!
It’s both.
Will I play like you if I buy this mouthpiece?
Excelente quisiera saber cuál sería la boquilla de trompeta (GR) similar a la boquilla de allen vizzutti con el borde en oro
Sounds great, Dan! Go Gators :)
Wonderful video. So nice to hear such detailed explanations. I felt like I just had a private tour. I look forward to playing my new Pickett trumpet MP!
I think it works okay! 😉
If you are Allen Vizzutti every mouthpiece works well 🤣
Se eu pudesse compraria um bocal desse é uma excelente marca. Um grande abraço de Tomé Açu no Pará Brasil.
Schilke better
Not for me. I like the Pickett mouthpieces better. If Allen Vizzutti and Doc Severinsen use them, there must be something right.
@@IndianOutlaw1870 I was simply responding to the comment "Schilke better". All I said is that for me, Schilke mouthpieces are not better than Pickett. I like the Picket pieces better. I also pointed out that if Allen Vizzutti and Doc Severinsen are using Pickett, Pickett must be doing something right. I didn't say that Schilke pieces are bad.
FIIIIINEEEEE!!!! BOTH OF YOU GUYS....NO BETTER MOUTHPIECE FOR ANYONE THAT EVERYONE USES PERSONALY WHEREVER BRANDS OR LINE ....Y USE THE JET/TONE AL HIRT MODEL A...THIS IS THE BEST FOR ME SINCE EVER!!!!
@@IndianOutlaw1870 FYM
I've never heard a breakdown on a mouthpiece physics as you have explained it and I think that I will definitely be contacting your business .I've played on the same one and a half c mouthpiece for 40 years and it's time for a change. But not if I'm going to lack endurance.
Years ago when I was a young teen I remember hearing Vinny play with a group out of Rochester New York called Wilmer Alexander and The dukes. They were awesome group and he was a fantastic trumpet player.I believe he has a son that is also a trumpet player that teaches at Syracuse University. As many know Rochester New York(home of Eastman school of music) has produced some great trumpet players in the past like Chuck mangione another trumpet player up there now Paul Gaspar . Anybody that really knows me knows I do not hand out compliments unless they're well deserved. May God bless Vinny with a long life and also in all his musical endeavors.
I’ve played dozens of horns, but I’m not much of a gear head. I used the same Bach 43 throughout school, college, “professionally”. I tried a Blackburn C once and it blew me away. It was so awesome that I still remember how it played. I’m very happy to see that Blackburn horns continue to be built with such dedication.
Yeah you do also make rotary trumpets?
Excelente!
Great video. You guys do such amazing work! Will be up for a visit soon!
I enjoyed your video about how you started your business and how it has evolved over time.
Who are the trumpeters?
It is Allen Vizzuti
How long you been playing. God bless you.
He didn't post this, Pickett Brass did, OMG. Why don't you do an internet search of his name while you're online..?
😂 best question in this comment section
Gimme Cliffy Brown anyday. This guy has nothing musical in his bones.
Stupid comment - evidently you haven't heard much of Mr Vizzutti.
Lol yeah. What maroon doesn't know about AL Vizzutti.
Oh ? Cliffy ? Wtf
@koobmoon 745 3 Volumes too. Played em all.
You have shown your ignorance lol I feel embarrassed for you !

Your so good 🤗🤩
Beautiful
When the mechanical activity is solid, there is potential for musical activity! Formula; available air to required support are inversely proportional. I definitely heard the “p” attack on the good breath attacks. Aperture and air coordinated. Thanks for a great tool, and the reminders, Vincent! You are a master teacher - we’re lucky you’re among us!
불어봐야 알지?~~~~
What is the music in the intro?
Five Episodes for Trumpet and Brass Choir, by Jeff Tykik & Allen Vizzutti, from Vince's album Made in Kentucky. Also recorded by Doc Severinsen.
Cool video, thanks for sharing!
this is good
Great low note!
Rob is the best. Awesome player and just a really good dude. Never met one if his students who didn’t love the guy.
