That chain seems stretched... it shouldn't flop around like that, additionally if there indeed chunks of that gear floating around in there, it's going to need to be opened up and cleaned/checked. Luckily chevy truck parts are everywhere. I'd suspect it was driven around in 4hi on pavement regularly, that causes this kinda wear quickly. (AWD vs 4WD, AWD are designed with some slip to prevent this kinda wear). Good luck!
go to a mechanic, he know better than calling everything "this part, that part" or my favorite "the box", please either learn how to speak or just list the correct part names and proper terms on some paper sheet and put it in the video if you really want someone to help you diagnose the problem
You’re being mean for no reason. It’s his truck and his channel let him do whatever he wants. It seems to me he’s quite good at diagnosing issues without knowing the “XYZ #2358” cog is loose showing “B69420” OBD code
I am "the mechanic". These videos are made to show the vehicle owners their concerns. I use those vague terms because most people hardly know how to operate an automobile, let alone what anything is. this truck came in for an alignment. while driving it onto the alignment lift the machine attempted to switch into 4WD, causing the transfer case actuator to grind, bind, and generally sound bad. the actuator was not the cause. The owner neglected to tell us the previous guy that changed this oil had pulled out visible chunks of gears from the unit. I unlocked 4WD and disabled it until another transfer case is installed, case closed!
So what are the lower ball joints supposed to look like when they are in good shape ? I just bought a used Silverado ( that was stolen) and owner put it all back together but it still needs a lot of work. I’m thinking this is what makes me jolt when I hit dips on the freeway. I appreciate your quick video and announcing the name of the part of the truck! 👍🏽
Dang 30 years is impressive.
fix my car in project zomboid!!

Maybe the owner doesn't make $30 an hour like the smartass mechanic who has time to make fun of his customers. Just sayin'.
