Support VellMori on Twitter and on UA-cam at @bo_ali_dead , on Instagram at @shdeod, and on her online store at marpple.shop/en/shdeod . I had this almost finished when the news came out. It seemed like a shame not to upload it. I don't know whether I'll continue covering these songs; it depends quite a bit on how Project Moon handles the situation from here on out. Good kitty, sweet kitty!
Wonderfull cover and translation! A new sub here! XD Since you also provided this insights into your thought process at several passages, I hope you don´t mind if I engage with your remarks in give a mix of opinion and questions? Please note that in the following I am approachign onyl from a vocabulary perspective, so if decisions were made becasue of the meter, pls tell me so, 'cause I am abysmall at that. XD The ancient authors were using paraphrases to describe our modern day "fans": Mart.epigr. 9,68,7-8 - "sua turba" for a group of ppl cheering for a specific gladiator Script.Hist.Aug. Ver. 4,8-9 - "amavit et aurigas prasino favens." "He loved charioteers and favored the greens." Plin.mai.n.h. 7,186 - "unum e faventibus" when recounting how a fan threw himself into the pyre of a chairoteer Especially in relation to the four Circus parties or the types of gladiatorial fighting the Romans often just used nomina derived from the "subject" in question to express the favoritism: e.g. "prasinianus" (supporter of the parsina = i.e. green charioteers) or "parmularius" (supporter of one armed with the parmulae = i.e. Thracian gladiators) So maybe instead of "diligo" the use of "faveo" would have been mor classical, but I would say you solved it nevertheless elegantly. I personally prefer your choice of "dulcissimum", because it expresses more the emotional convenience of ignoring reality, but if you wanted to stay true to the "fun" vocabulary, why not use "gaudens est" PPA, or "gaudio est", alternativley "delectans est" PPA? I had thought you choose "etsi exciebar" because of their similar sounding, but since this apparently was not the case, why not "quamvis"? I like your choice of "spes", technically "visum" would have been a possibility too, but it is even clear to me that "insomnium" would have not fit the meter. XD And I think the unused-laurels fit better than the prize money (manubiae?) or victory prize "palma; adorea; brabeum/brabium; niceterium", because "lauri" is a better known word and the general meaning is not changed by any of these choices. However, if you would have wanted to go for a classical equivalent to the original lyrics, then "sors" are mentioned by the sources (Script.Hist.Aug. Elag. 22,2; in regard to tickets distributed to the polulace during circus games, which allowed different prizes to be claimed. = "sortes aureae mei non mutantur/cambiuntur" I guess because of the meter in this version we would need to ignore "in my sack", but it would retain the "my golden tickets are not getting exchanged = stay unexchanged", so would this have been a worthy trade off? I found your solution to opt for "civitatem" very well executed, the only alternative which would imply a tad bit more systemic expectations of certain behaviors would have been "simul atque in rem publicam emittuntur", but I feel like the meter would ba a little problematic with this... You did perfectly with this sentence, I am just curious as to why you choose "deflere" over "deplorare" and "illacrimare/collacrimare" which I personally feel are signaling a tad bit more emotional turmoil? Aha! Verily, mine assumption as to your reasoning for why thou hast choosen "hospita" and not "amica" has been in accordance with the truth! :D
THIS IS SUCH A GOOD COMMENT OMG Okay so firstly: the reasoning behind most of these boils down to the fact I only took two years of Latin and haven't actually read much of anything written by, like, actual Romans, despite always meaning to get around to it at some point 😭. I can tell just from how many citations you have in here that you're way more fluent than me not just WRT vocabulary but with history and social context. I have some vague recollection of the vocal synth I was using refusing to properly pronounce "quamvis", but I'm not sure if this actually happened or I'm just misremembering because that sounds like the kind of thing I would have put in the translator's notes to begin with. Your translation for the "golden tickets" line is especially really good. :O The choice of "deflere" specifically was motivated by the meter more than the vocabulary. Three cheers for alliteration! ! !
@@cryptologicalMystic Really, only two years? Wouldn´t have thought that! (Then again, I´m no philologist but just a historian for the classical period so my skills in latin are mostly limited to "I can understand what is written there") XD Well, it´s a combination of having a general idea what could be possible, and then one needs to know where to search. For example to search what the ancients used for "fan" I used a german database called Spectatores to search for cases in which authors speak about the phenomenon of followers and extatic spectators. ;) (If you would like, I could offer my aid in future projects should you run into translation needing vocabulary profiting from historical knowledge. If interested, I would send you later today an email.) Ahh, yeah the programm beeing stubborn is a good reason. ^^ My gratitude! :) See? Me and the meter. :D *cheering noises*
this is the content i subbed and rang the notification bell for. peak as always
The demon of my bedroom: this music is perfect😢
Can you make seperate vocals of them?
Kromer if she was a fatui harbinger😆
Sancho, ingeniosiorem ideam concepi! 🗣🗣🗣 (sorry google traslator)
Using this to study latin. Thanks😊
Please post it on spotify!!
The only thing I don't understand is why the "this is a latin translation, not a spanish one!" warning is in spanish... No one on spanish confuses latin with spanish so that's kinda weird, otherwise the song is amaizing and I love the translation to latin <3
@@pisidora1998 I actually have seen Spanish-language stuff categorized under the Latin language category before. Maybe that's less of a problem these days?
Looking at it from your side (looking for Latin stuff and finding Spanish) that makes more sense, but the concepts of "Latino" comes from the USA so I can bet (but not be sure) that most of those people were Americans and that Hispanic people don't find Latin stuff Sorry if my hate for the words "Latino" and "American" (to mean 'someone from the USA) shows itself too much. But thank you for the song <3
@@pisidora1998 is that what happens is that the gringos (as we call them in Latin American countries) created the difference based on the countries that speak English and those that do not speak English, in that term Brazil is also Latin American and they speak Portuguese.
Incredible job Now do La Manchaland Carnival, we need a Latin cover of that
incredible job!!! I went through Real Hell trying to cover this in normal spanish and I'm shaking imagining trying to cover this in a language where some words just DONT EXIST lmao 😭the hero is you

Currently in the process of covering Hero! Translation is _mostly_ finished; I forgot how annoying wrestling with FL Studio is when there's a tempo change. Why can't it be more like SynthV?
Please Make a Spanish Version

자꾸 [[라멘타]]라고 말하니깐 [[라멘]]을 먹고 싶어요.
Oohh it's cool to see more people are using SynthV for Latin covers! This sounds great, I'm subscribing instantly.
sextans meus est curiositas
I kinda wish actual people did a cover using these latin lyrics since they're a banger while the vocaloids still sound a tad robotic That being said, amazing work, fam.
What in the goddamn, I never knew Latin covers of Limbus songs existed. Gratias tibi for this.
Pense que estaria en español hasta que vi bien y era Latin, igual el cover esta buenisimo
I've been listening to this nonstop for 2 days. Good job.
💀 i hear automatons... (panicly pressing ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️)
Holy shit, this one was an absolutely banger! It must have been a nightmare finessing the voices to match the syncopation of the original song (with one voice lagging behind the other at some parts). Great work!!!
This channel is far too underrated I will consume every cover you've made now.
the salve/ave/vale/salve part is so nice
언어 설정을 라틴어로 해 두셨나요? 자동 번역이 정상적으로 작동하지 않습니다.
Hello, the song is so good that is it okay to use this cover song to make a video? (I bought the original song)
I know nothing about voicebanks/SynthV/etc, but do you think you could try with an Italian-speaking base? Clearly this is using English pronunciation and it could be soooo much better with something that is actually close to Latin.
absolutely nice
absolute peak
Don’t be afraid heatcliff.
영어가 라틴어의 위치에 있으니 라틴어를 배울 이유가 없어요. 라틴어는 카이사르의 군단이나 쓰는 거겠죠...?
