Some of the video files were corrupted so some footage like removing/installing outer tub are missing, still a neat video showing bearing replacement process.

    Take lots of pictures as you take apart. Keep pieces together! You CAN do this❣️ We purchased a home with one that was covered in mold from being off for months in the Texas heat. I wasn’t going to use it until it was bleached inside and out. Now it works great! We love it🤗 When I make tea I finish it off with ice 🥶. Because these makers run constantly the water is the cleanest you can drink❣️ Once you accomplish this you’ll be so proud of yourself🤓 Blessings❣️ Thanks for the tutorial❣️

    If you want to slow down the video go to settings (looks like a sprocket at bottom) go into playback play at .25 for slower motion

    I wish you lived in Delaware near me and could clean my ice maker.. I have mold everywhere on the cutter and in tubes and I just turned it off and closed it up after 5 cleaning cycles could not get out the mold!

    I've seen several and never did they take off the control panel or take the whole tub out. How do you slow this down?🤔

    Is there a filter for this model?

    • @wolfappliancerepairservice3086

      Hello, this particular model does not have the option for a filter. You can always add an in-line filter on the back. Between the machine and water supply line.

    Took everything off but that plate needs some work. Any idea how to clean it?? The plate looks clean but the scale around it and where the water flows on the plate looks crusty.

      Sorry for the delay, when you remove the wire cutting grid and the water channel in front of the evaporator plate you can reach pretty easily. Put some nickel safe icemaker cleaner on a sponge and scrub away, maybe even hold the sponge directly on the build up for a bit so it can start breaking it down. Most models you can access somewhat from the top, two screws on the back of machine to move the top to the side a little. Be careful for the main wire harness.

    THIS! After the Texas freeze, this is what I'm wanting to do to our machine. I'm finding deposits from hard water even after using the afresh cleaning solution and I really want a detailed clean on it!! Thank you for your video.

      Yes would definitely be a good idea to do at least a good rinse and sanitize wipe down. I’m sorry it’s not more of a “how to” video it was originally intended for a new customer that wasn’t home at the time of service and just decided I would make this video to send to him so he can see the work being done. I just might look into starting some “how to” or “helpful tips” videos. Glad you enjoyed, cleaning ice makers can be very satisfying to me.

      @@wolfappliancerepairservice3086 It may have taken me 2.5 hours to descale and deep clean most of the parts but it looks incredible now! Most parts are back to nearly brand new. How did you descale the silver plate and longer tubes? Those were my biggest issues to clean and they still aren't as perfect as I would like. I appreciate even more now. Now to find another afresh bottle to run one last cleaning cycle once it is all back together and get her started back up.

    I cleaned my unit by taking it apart but now I'm getting a like a black residue on the bottom of the bin. It looks like carbon black residue. It appears coming from the very top back area of the unit. Any ideas?

    • @wolfappliancerepairservice3086
      @wolfappliancerepairservice3086 3 роки тому

      Could be carbon from a newly installed or old water filter, could be that you just need to do a few more rinses of the recirculating system. If you just installed a new filter it’s probably that and water will need to flushed through the filter a few times. You can try running the clean cycle again with no cleaner just water, that should flush out a new filter and rinse the recirculating system pretty good.

    Ridiculous. All that is not necessary. We run a solution through the maker once all ice removed. Then run through 3-4 cycles. Remove ice again. Then ready to run.

    so after putting the cleaner in the machine and starting the cleaning cycle why does it say to add clearing and why is it still making ice? and when turning it back on why does it say in needs cleaning?

    • @wolfappliancerepairservice3086
      @wolfappliancerepairservice3086 4 роки тому

      William Penn jr. you might have not started the clean cycle properly, or it may have started but not completed. When you run and COMPLETE the clean cycle is the only way to clear the “cleaning needed” light. When your going to run a clean cycle, drain water from the reservoir first, then add your cleaning product (Nickel safe) then add water. After that, then start your cleaning cycle . If you don’t add enough water the “add water/cleaner” light will appear til the water level sensor senses the appropriate amount of water has been added. Then it should begin the cleaning cycle to complete. It should not make ice during this time, just circulates the water through the system and does a few drains and refills to rinse out any residual cleaner.

      @@wolfappliancerepairservice3086 I filled the reservior all the way with cleaner and water and pressed the cleaning cycle button. What else is there? why was it still making ice and saying to add cleaner? I followed the directions exactly as it says on the machine.

    • @wolfappliancerepairservice3086
      @wolfappliancerepairservice3086 4 роки тому

      William Penn jr. It’s very possible you might be having a water level sensor error or control error. Depending on the model you have your water sensor will be an individual part or built into the recirculating pump. Might be time to have it serviced/diagnosed by an experienced technician.

    I have the same situation with a very similar (if not the same model) washer. I have the basket kit coming in tomorrow. I wonder how difficult it will be for someone that has never done it before yet has a technical background. I have someone that can do it for me, but I'll have to wait a week. I have tools as well, I just don't want to break anything.
