Yep thats the standard rocking up for a fire call pretty much same thing happened during my years as a volunteer firey here in South Australia it was generally a case of first at station gets best park that was before a permanent car park was put in

The siren going off here is a Federal Signal Model 5.

We have the same type of siren in a little city of Lemoore California where I am a volunteer fire fighter. the siren goes off for structure fires gas leaks and other types of calls we carry a pager and we go to the fire house Don our gear and jump up on a truck fire apparatus we are completely volunteer fire department nobody is paid from the chief to the first assistant chief to the second assistant chief to the 35th man where I have been a fire fighter for 33 years with Lemoore volunteer fire department we just celebrated our hundredth year of service last summer . we are toned out by pager mostly siren goes off for structure fires and other types of incidents we have crash trucks for T/A and other medical emergencies!!!

I currently live in North Dakota. The first place ever I have lived that uses the air raid style of alarm. FD is digital pager. If you’re not from here the first thought I had was sever weather. Then I asked around and people said it was just the FD alarm. A few people in town want to decommission the system Others are keep it up. Stupid reasons also. Like rubber necking or alarm clock. Is just a couple. Thx to everyone who responds to the calls.

Consider them as minute men. Not just first responders, fast responders. God bless all you volunteer fire fighters everywhere.

Small town America all did it like this before the days of the special phone install and then replaced by pagers. But a lot of small small towns still have this system hooked up and stick with it. Great way to alert farmers out in the fields that are volunteer Fire Fighters.

The difference between paid and volunteer? Volunteers haul ass.
