From the Bay Area in CA. Why the hell did I think Jawbreaker was from Chicago. lol I figured since Smoking Popes wrote a song about them they were from the same area.
That was great! Do more of short movies of Bukowski's poets, with his voice background!
Thanks. I do want to make more at some point.
Just saw Sparta play Club Dada in Dallas an hr ago. They killed it.
Nice! Greaat Sparta is getting back out there.
@ericpritch @ericpritch they have been playing shows for years and touring bro
1:43 why is there two songs playing?
Good ear. No idea. Lol.
Peterson. From another planet. RIP. Best ever.
this was really interesting
Beautiful.
Thanks!
No iron cross on the rear view mirror ? Not that big of deal … fyi I have a stool from the oak wood post office ( hank worked there) I was doing some work on the air condition system years ago. The manager gave it to me it’s marked uspo 1940’s if I remember. It had been there all the time hank was there. It’s pretty cool, it’s for sale. I’m in silver lake. Thanks for the video.
Piece of art... well done!
Thanks!
good impression
Thanks!
Remembering Scibella, Perckoff, Baza and Anita, and Saul White!😊❤
Yep… have another beer!
Real Good. It made me chuckle with a smile....real good man.
Thanks! I appreciate it.
46 years into this, and I like this guys’ attitude…………
He called that car "The Volks"
I luckily found this and was delighted. Thank you!
Great! Glad you like it.
Wow 😯
RIP Hank Boy, we sorely miss your words today. Just finished reading THE PEOPLE LOOK LIKE FLOWERS AT LAST. Published posthumously and not your best work - but anything you write is o.k. by me.
Thanks for check this out. I need to read THE PEOPLE LOOK…
🙏🤘🤘🤘
🙏🤟💫
best mid length i ever rode was a fineline. excellent boards
Nice! Great boards indeed.
Jim Ward is the heart of ATDI, and their founder. Reunion without him makes no sense at all. That's why the band ended up like that.
Everybody Street is the greatest. Now I need to find her other films. Thanks for posting this.
Indeed, Everybody Street is great! Check out the other films for sure. Thanks!
A Real musician
I still have my ticket subs stubs from all of your san Diego tours. Some of the best concerts I've ever been to.
Excellent work!
Thanks!
still sounds exactly the same since 20 years ago, unfortunately i cant say the same for cedric, he burnt out his voice really hard during at the drive in and even after in The Mars Volta
Hey I talked to this guy
Jim thinks his shit dont stink out her in el paso. He ain't this genuine in real life
Like for both : The Volks 👍👍👍👍👍 The BooCowsKee 🛐 hehe .•°
I love him.
That last part. Holy shit. So blunt. ❤
Jim Ward is just the definition of a good lad. Who is also a brilliant songwriter.
I try to perform all my transactions in this fashion
one of the most humble and nice persons i ever seen. 101% respect
Good video
"The goal is to make records, you know?" That's why I still draw in from jim still. That's the truth. Now jim help me make mines. I'll pay I just want someone to light me a pathway. xD
I nearly spat my tea out when he mentioned J Church as an influence. J Church? I love them a lot still but have never heard anyone site them as an influence
Yeah J Church was one of those bands that weren't for everyone but some people loved them.
If we carried it out to sea, pushed it over the edge we couda all been through
Beautiful pastiche of Jeffers. Can't believe how little views this has
Thanks! Yeah it must have got lost in youtube the shuffle.
I love how he says, he travels, plays music, and money earned he invests it in his town...El Paso, it hits home literally. Im still in El Paso, i love my town. And he gets good bands into town to play at Tricky Falls venue, and its amazing. Thanks Jim, for all you do for our town, and for bands to get a taste of our culture and welcoming spirits.
Good to hear!
@ 02:32 Did I hear him imply Peterson didn't know about design or what he was shaping?
My uncle. Use to shape boards with tommy and Michael and shaped boards, this guy is a bit goofy
He was actually really good at shaping, as was tommy
sparta is a huge influence on my band!!! - alleydirt.bandcamp.com
Nice. Alley Dirt songs sounds good!
Everybody Street is one my very favorite photography docs -- Cheryl, thank you for keeping what was... still... is.
Cool! I love that doc. Thanks for checking this out.
what does "intelligent punk" means?
He's referring to Jawbreaker and J-church or punk bands with with smart thought out lyrics.
Olson is too cool for Doing this.
Didn't see this before. I like listening to his way of living music still as an art. Hope to keep having new music. I loved broken songs btw. Nice interview. Thank you for doing this !
Thanks!
Jim Ward, the reason why ATDI is now kinda average..
i never wanted to believe that... until the newest ATDI album came out... and there's definitely something big missing
i agree 100%
Still don’t get it, man. Cedric and Omar, who had pretty much broken up atdi years before (and not on good terms), return to reform. Then, mere days before atdi is to properly kick off, Jim leaves, gets replaced with Davis, who had been brought into Sparta by Jim, and then Sparta reunite without Davis and without Tony hajjar who was cofounder of Sparta and Jim's proper bro (i mean Jim did a movie about his life!), and still until now no one wants to SAY A WORD ABOUT IT??! Man, something went down.
I've been a big fan of ati, tmv, sparta, since inception… it really is jarring , and mysterious. I agree, something went down, which made jim let down his fans, which means it must've been something big. I hope cedric and Omar didn't relapse in their old ways.
maybe just differing personalities, even though they were great together as ATDI, they grew apart, it's sad but true.
🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
OMG I FUCKING LOVE JAWBOX!!!
I know I do
