Every year we focus on all stages of tree development based on the season. Since our growing season is so long i am still taking the opportunity to finish a few maples in the garden that i didn't get to. I believe this tree came into the garden in 2020 as we re-potted it and reduced it from an 8 foot tall nursery stock tree in April of 2021. We would love to hear how long you have been in bonsa...

Each week we get this call to discover something new in nature. It started with my son saying remember when i was a kid: we found something new to do each week. Since moving within a few miles of my son we have done just that... we have found a new town to explore, another state park, another river, another stream, another mountain range, another historic sight, another sunset, another sunrise,...

Yes you have seen this tree before: just not as in-depth as this episode. Its been a wonderful opportunity to bring this tree into the garden when it was a 7 or 8 foot tall nursery stock tree. What a beautiful sight to see as this tree grows into maturity. So so amazing what can be done with an Acer Palmatum on its own root stock in really a short amount of time. Its been a privilege to help th...

This tree has been in training for two and half years. This tree was initially wired and styled in August of 2022. We did an initial potting from a growing pot into a shallower UN-glazed pot in March of 2023. The tree exploded with growth within a few months, so i did a partial de-candle on some of the strongest areas. The rest is history as they say. I love having so many different Japanese Bl...

Two years ago this tree was used as a training tool to show students how to bend a completely straight trunk pine. We removed the wire after about 1 year as it was starting to cut into the bark. In early May i began its initial cleaning preparing it for a little wire. I had planned on finishing it a few days after its initial clean out. Life happened and three weeks later i was able to go back ...

Lime sulphur the wood apply a wood hardening agent the cover in a two part epoxy. Will end the rot that could spread down and up. Also epoxy stimulates a faster healing as it gives the cambium something clean to push against. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️. Maple wood digests so fast if your soil is healthy with microbial life. Beautiful tree❤

Wait wait, what day is national beer day?! I didn't know such a day existed. National Beer day for me is just any day that ends with Y and has any type of occasion attached to it... PS, what beer did you drink? I got to drink a Pliney The Younger on Tap 2 weeks ago for a limited release here in Fresno! Beat that!
I'm envious of your mornings... someday....
Cool I'll have to give these a look!
You had some beautiful Azaleas at your facility! Can't wait to come back in the future.
