Imogene Climb From Ouray CO
Переглядів 3933 роки тому
Climb up Imogene Pass outside Ouray to the summit of the pass at 13,114 ft. This was at the end of our first trip to the San Juan Mtn. area and we were all noobs when it came to offroad riding in the West... so if you are contemplating a first trip to the Telluride/Ouray area for motorcycle riding this may be interesting... especially if you're riding larger bikes (I was one of two Husqvarna 70...

Genial!
hey mate great vid! i just bougt a '16 MTS 1200S DVT and i'm planning to buy the rapidbike for it due to the rough iddle and the stalling issues when decelerating can you tell me which model of rapid bike you got?
Hi all, What was the title and composer of the last song?
Incredible talent from a lost era in popular music played by 2 masters
You guy’s are the ultimate duet. I can’t get enough of this Video. And You, Mark ,playing the Theatre Organ and I saw Ed playing with my very favorite Jazz Band ,The Hot Sardines. OH! My Gosh . I’m in Heaven at only 85 yrs. being able to listen to you most of the day. If I could be a Granny D J and play your music for others that love it as much as I do. The Dream Job. Have a great day . Love and Big Hug’s coming your way. You make so many people happy. Chris in Portland ,🥀 Oregon. ♥️🎶🥀🎶♥️🥰🌴😎🎼🎹🎶♥️
Love that I know that you know
QRS needs to get Ed to cut a few rolls for them. Love to hear him play.
Super enjoyable to listen to.
WONDERFUL!
I also have a problem with how to pull out the wheel axle on the Monster 1200. I'm greasing a lot now. And then I'll keep fighting.
There are two possibilities I can see... one would be some corrosion or some other issue that creates a mechanical bind (metal holding the parts together)... that might make it a pain to get out and you might need to try pressing (though I'm not sure how much force you can apply before you risk damaging the bearings) The other one (and the issue for you hopefully) is some dried up grease sticking them together. If that's the issue then you can use a torch to heat up the axle (I'd probably try heating it by shooting the flame down the center of the axle at the two locations I point out). If you can get the axle heated up it will soften the grease and make it easier to pop out. I'd likely try to help it along with a rubber mallet to the end of the axle... and you might need to wait for the axle to cool back down some before things start moving because it will expand when heated which will actually tighten it against the inner races of the two bearings in the hub. My hub when I disassembled it had no corrosion at all on the axle after 55,000 miles, and I do use grease to provide some corrosion protection I use a very thin layer so there's not enough to cause much of a buildup. Good luck... if you figure out what the cause is post it to help others!
I thought you mentioned in the video that you are an east coast rider - did you trailer your bikes out to CO?
This trip to Ouray was in 2021 - I went with 2 other 690/701's, a 500exc, and a 790 Adv R. If not for the 500 we might have ridden but that would be a brutal trip on that bike so we trailered. This year I rode the 701 on the TAT from Sioux Falls SD out to the Pacific then back to Arkansas and rode the passes a second time (this time solo). This year I trailered the bike to Missouri and rode from there (bit over 7000 miles total in 21 days of riding, about 6000 on the TAT).
Awesome job!
Pure gold. Encore! 🎉👏👏👏👏👏
Wonderful
Excellent!
Thank you so much for taking the time to narrate this video. This trip is a bucket list item for me and is may have the opportunity to check it off this summer.
You'll love it... I'm riding the Transamerica Trial this summer and plan to pause for a few days in Ouray to hit all the passes again, they're a lot of fun.
It doesn't get any better than this. this is the first time I've heard this, but it won't be the last. this is just great could listen to them all night. 3/2/22
Any fitment issues or complaints with the Motocomposites parts? Bike looks killer!
Thanks! She's a pretty good looking girl even after 6 seasons of riding (and 60k miles). Fitment is good on most of the Motocomposites parts... but not perfect like it is with Ducati Performance parts. For me the cost savings was worth it for most of them. The only part that IMO is substandard and better to skip is the front sprocket guard. Other parts you'll see seam gaps but generally not big enough to be annoying.
Wow that must have cost a few $$$$
I didn't buy the expensive parts... cherry picked some components from a mid-quality Chinese manufacturer. I think I spent maybe $700 or $800 on CF widgets. Other than the windscreen... that was Ducati Performance (but used).
It looks like a great ride, I learned long ago that big bikes are not so good for serious dirt trails. A 350-500cc dirt bike is about ideal.
Definitely agree for these trails... I'd have been much faster on a 250lb bike. For me I needed the bike to be able to tour (for the TAT) and the 690/701 is pretty much the lightest bike that can still be turned into a top shelf ADV tourer - so it's a tradeoff (as with all bike decisions).
Thanks so much. Great video. Helpful.
Wow it's taking forever to get the HD versions converted... it's Sunday night and they're still not available so I'd suggest waiting... SD res. stinks.
For an impromptu duet this is some of the best piano music I've ever heard.
Wonderful🎶
That “chick” has got to be 20 ft long…. Sound is great
Makes my heart sing!
Gorgeousness on a piano.
Wonderful discovery just surfing through youtube!
I posted this primarily so I could come back and listen to it occasionally myself! ;-) I only wish I could have come prepared with my pro-audio gear (though it doesn't sound too terrible).
Still very enjoyable .... and I will share it with my college music apprec. class students.

Did you have to remove fuel tank to attach the RB? Or all plugs were under the seat?
I did not remove the tank... you can fish them through the tunnel... however... in hindsight I WOULD have at least propped the tank up 3 or 4 inches... which would have made the process much easier (and once you have the tank off once or twice it get's pretty easy).
@@kuhndj67 Thank you sir
Once you get into the modes, how can you adjust each of the settings in the mode? For example, if within Sport I want to adjust the DTC or ABS levels.
Instead of just momentarily pushing the first time... push and hold. It will take you to the adjustment menu's (most people end up there the first time they try to change mode and then can't figure out why it won't let them actually change the mode). I don't recall the menu's themselves off the top of my head but they're pretty straightforward iirc (it's generally something you only do once or maybe a few times).
@@kuhndj67 Thanks David, I will try it out. I could have sworn I did the hold procedure, but I'll try again today. Rented a 1260 Pikes Peak edition, very nice bike.
That's great!
Music is what makes the world go around (Tho' the USA is way out of tune at this time!). This is a great reminder how it should sound, with two great artists collaborating in the moment! It's a blessing these musical compositions exist in today's world. And a treat to experience. Thanks for sharing!
I'd already had 2 flat's that trip so that's why I was invoking the motorcycle gods to spare my Pilot Road 4's.
So beautiful, exceptionally great, such lovely music Sound awesome.
Does it delete the exhaust flapper valve?
no you still need to buy the servo eliminator.
Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This really makes me smile! Thanks chaps. Dan x
...sorry, what were you saying?
Hi, what exhaust are you running in this video? Sounds great!
It's an Arrow midpipe and black anodized can... I didn't like the gargantuan bright Titanium Termi look and found a black anodized Arrow can that I really liked so grabbed that along with their midpipe. Price wasn't too bad either as I recall. I think that was with the baffle out... bit loud that way so I usually have the baffle in to avoid annoying the neighbors. Here it is on an older 1200: ua-cam.com/video/XxT2IRRkfS4/v-deo.html&feature=emb_logo
I love the family reunion
Blown away by this!! I believe the full-size grand is a Chickering straight-strung instrument from around the turn of the C20th or just after. Magnificent-sounding bass!
I wish I'd have had my actual camera and recording gear... phones are pretty amazing for what they are but the sound and video are both not what I'd have liked. The old adage "the best camera is the one you have with you" definitely applies in this case.
As late as that? It looks 1870s-ish to me, but I'm not familiar with Chickerings and maybe their style was a bit throwback...
@@rich8037 Chickering Scale 76 (straight strung) 1875-1886. You are quite right, Richard. By early C20th they were all cross-strung.
Hi, can the tft display be mounted on the base 1200,?
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Is thaaaat guy (dealer) still alive?
I did end up pulling the wheel and there was some very minor scuffing but that was it... I definitely dodged a bullet there. That shop did my 60,000km service and I found other issues too... they installed the air filter UPSIDE DOWN, and had the fork rotated wrong (the wire comes out of the top of the fork at an angle, and they had it pointed forward so it was catching on a piece of dash fascia when I turned sharply right, luckily so sharp that it only happened when pushing the bike around). They also did valves and belts - so that has me worried.
