This is so classy! If you are young you won’t believe but in real life it works exactly this way- department of English Language and Literature, whatever humanitarian department where they blah-blah for hours, then those people can’t talk with each other, they can analyze a poem written 300 years ago but won’t express their true feelings to the people they care about, the professors lecturing the students won’t talk about feelings with own kids and so on. Guys, just learn to stop those whisper glances numb conversations etc and ask them directly “wtf do you mean and what exactly do you want from me?” It would save you years of life and tons of nervous cells

This was one of the most frustrated I've ever been with the show. This part right here. Had they stayed together, no Jamie, no Sweden, no Helen, no pain.

honestly yeah there are so many things i love about this show but i dont feel like it’s so realistic.. like no it’s not possible, two people who love each other so much and can t find anyone that even comes close.. no way they wouldn’t fight more to keep what they have, even if we consider their mental struggles. there’s just no way for me so i love this show but rewatching it now for the second time it’s pretty annoying the way the two main characters behave. it feels like it keeps making excuses to keep them apart

Paul is right, Daisy is soooo cute in that scene after they first kiss.

I know neither of them are perfect but I hate Connell so much sometimes. “I don’t know what happened between us” he says when he broke her heart. I know he’s drunk and was just beaten up but he seems so manipulative in some scenes.

I love that I keep bumping into new, for me, YT vids of the greatest tv drama series I've ever seen. The book was great but Daisy and Paul bought it so much to life. Fantastic. They do live happily together of evermore btw. Marianne and Connell that is!

This part killed me.... so heartbreaking 💔

When I was 18 I had a similar experience with a girl I was totally in love with. After a summer of 'will they won't they' we finally got together. The next morning she told me that "maybe we shouldn't tell everyone about this", which I took to mean she regretted it. Broke my heart, but I did what I thought she wanted and backed off. A month later I was leaving to go to uni and I messaged her to essentially spill my heart out and tell her how sad I was about it - she wrote back saying that was never her intention and she just meant that we should keep it a secret for the time being, and that she thought I was the one who regretted it. We were both devastated and I thought about it/her for genuinely years afterwards. I still think about it occasionally and I'm 35, married with a kid. What could have been? We'll never know. Insecure kids not knowing how to talk to each other openly - I learned a harsh lesson from it.

This little manoeuvre cost them 51 years
