Winterbourn Down Mummers or The Christmas Boys have been performing our village play for over forty years. In those years we have raised over Twenty Five Thousand Pounds for local Charities. The Winterbourn Down Border Morris returned to Villa Nova in Catalan. We went there 15 years ago for there 25th Anniversary. This year we were asked back for their 40th. It was a wonder few days meeting up with old friends and making new friends. We were guest of the Mayor on the last day, they are a wonder friendly people, It's a beautiful town with miles of golden sands.

This is another part of the film about the Victorian Lady seaweed collector "Margaret Gatty". Fergus is a wild food forager, working with wild foods for over twenty five years, appearing on "Countryfile, "The One Show" and "Alan Tichmarsh" Shows. The beach was between Hern Bay & Margate.

We (Winterbourn Down Border Morris Dancers) where invited to the Pucklechurch Wassailing on 29th January this year. this is a short film of that evening, made up of Videos & pictures sent to me by Richard & Rebecca who organized the evening. If you get a chance next year its a really good evening, lovely apple cake and cider. finishing up at the pub. what more do you wanted.
The North Ronaldsay Sheep (Filmed September 2015)

As part of the Margaret Gatty film I am making, I went up to North Ronaldsay in the Orkneys to film the sheep that live on the foreshore, and fell in love with these beautiful little sheep that just eat the seaweeds on the rocks.

Winterbourn Down Border Morris going to the Prazske Folklorni Dny festival this year 24th July to 26th July 2014. First time we have been abroad since 2002. We all had a tremendous time dancing with all the other sides & lots of goulash and beer.

@@milivojfilipovic3277 There are looking for new people to live on the Island. There used to be 400 people but now it's down to to 40 people. When I was over there five years ago, you could buy a cottage with 20 acres for about £20.000. don't know what is like now. Regards Alan

I don't know! Perhaps they got Seasick on the boat or not very good Weather, that's the beauty of Lundy, It's an adventure.
I am enjoying spinning my first lot of North Ronaldsay wool - here in Canberra Australia. I this lead me to do a bit of reading about this very interesting breed. I am enjoying spinning the wool. It has been carded and does have long guard hairs mixed with the finer fleece, but overall it is soft and fluffy. I am really interested to see the final result and maybe I can do my bit by investing in more of the wool. I have yet to visit the Orkneys but visited the Shetland Islands a few years ago and absolutely loved the landscape - wild, bare, spare, richly coloured with a simple palette. The kind of place that blows the cobwebs from your soul.

Glade you enjoyed it, We tracked the "Play" back through to the mid 1800s through a villager who in her 90s remembered her father when a boy seeing it around the village of Winterbourn Down England, also at the village war memorial there is one of the "players" who never made it back from the first world war. The play is preformed ever Boxing Day in the village to a crowd of over 300 people. I still have copy's of the Mummer's of Winterbourn Down if you would like one. Thanks
