Children's survival swimming

Julie and Olivia learn how to survive if they fall into water. The goal here is not learning how to swim. That will come later. The goal here is to turn onto your back if you fall into water. That enables you to breathe. And babies and children likely will cry while this is happening, alerting the adults that are likely nearby. Many drownings occur with the parent or adult very close because th...

    I swear this non contact sparring is scarier than full contact. Pad up, gum shield and do it properly. Less risk of losing teeth and eyes.

    Nice to look at. But has nothing to do with a real fight. Doesn‘t work as self defense. Wrong timing, wrong distance. I lost much time, training this nonsense.

    It's that stupid TKD again. Surely a black belt grading sparring session should be padded up with a level of realistic contact? When I was in the TAGB in the late 90s... it was nothing like this. They're just throwing g their legs around... no hand techniques and shouting out ridiculous ki ups...

  • @lawrencehealey3648
    @lawrencehealey3648 Рік тому

    What is this? It's not ITF. Swinging the arms and legs around and shouting isn't self defence.

    Excellent example of true Tae Kwon Do technique and free sparring, compared to the watered down sport version you see today. I especially like the 4 on 1 sparring, using hand and blocking techniques used in the various hyungs that were taught. Tae Kwon Do utilizes many kicking techniques, but you have two hands and arms for a reason also!!

    The unconfortable truth is : Myay thai is much more effective than taekwondo in sparring. What's the point of all the forms and one step sparring when the style doesn't offer any tools to really fight ?

    Very acrobatic and dramatic. All martial arts strive to the same end from different approaches. This is very good for loosening joints and keeping things flowing. Great fir ladies given their him anatomy. Great for the begginers and children who cannot really concentrate on dynamic and in depth detailed training.

    Bizarre. When I was with the UKTA in the UK during the mid to late 80s, the grading sparring was performed with pads, gum shield etc... and a bit of contact was expected. This looks very weird, yet it does look like an ITF style TKD. No Ho Sin Sul either, so anyone fighting these guys with low kicks or take downs will basically wipe the floor with them.

    • @lawrencehealey3648
      @lawrencehealey3648 8 місяців тому

      @serioja03 I did traditional ITF for 15 years. This isn't it. UKTA then TAGB in the UK. The sparring looks like some delusional imagination of what would work in a fight or self defence situation. We all know that high kicks are a TKD 'thing', but training in other styles back in the 80s and 90s illuminated the short comings for me. Sparring without protective equipment is an absolute idiots dream... there's no such thing as 'non contact'.... semi contact in itself was nonsense, and i saw far more silly injuries at TKD tournaments than i ever did at kick boxing or Muay Thai. The pattern execution looks rushed too.
