In two 30-minute speech therapy sessions at Bridgeway Academy, Katya learned how to program new words into her LAMP Words for Life device - including names of her friends. As an SLP, I value Katya's ability to mandate her own lexicon and add words to her device independently.

Katya and I were pretending to sneeze during speech today. It was a blast and a perfect opportunity to learn and use new vocabulary.

Brady was diagnosed with autism at 21 months and was functionally non-verbal until a few months into using the LAMP program at Bridgeway Academy (formerly Helping Hands Center). Please enjoy, celebrate and share his successes. I should add that Ashley Orr, his long-time aide is (along with all the other professionals in his life) amazing!

As a speech therapist, I am so lucky to work at a center that believes that everyone deserves a voice. Things that are said by our students are respected by all teachers and therapists at Bridgeway Academy (formerly Helping Hands Center). I'm so proud that our students who use AAC go far beyond simple requesting and use language to connect with others.
