Skulldrag Industries and Skulldrag Fishing was set up to provide educational information and video infotainment to the budding soft plastics, hardbody or kayak fisherman out there. It may come as no surprise to a lot of you starting off, that getting started in lure fishing can be a time consuming and sometimes costly pursuit. Sometimes, it just takes a little encouragement, technique or tactic to make all the difference in helping get you onto your first fish.
Truth be told, we might have even had a little fun making these ourselves.
So come with us on a journey to learn about fishing with artificial’s and enjoy the content on our website and blogs at www.skulldragindustries.com or our facebook page @skulldragindustries.
If you want to join a community of like minded persons, you can also check out the Soft Plastics Anonymous facebook page for tips and techniques from your fellow soft plastics fisho’s.

Nice
In terms of the sounder what are looking for specifically & what depths do u favour? Awesome vid btw🤙🤙
Thanks for the comment, depth is dependent on the structure. Anywhere 6m + is a good place to start, if you have sidescan, use that to locate your structure, work out your drift and approach from up current, throw towards the structure and work back as you drift over. Good luck, happy hunting!
Great video footage! And some nice fish too 👏
Secret stuff HAHAHAHAHA
Nice vid Lee 🤙🐟
Great as always!
Stay away from Amazon!! They sell you used shit!
love your content
Thanks Tom, glad you like it, hopefully it helps put you into a few.
Do you sell those snaps lures mate
Hey mate, no, but you can get onto @snapzlures or @hobiescott and he can hook you up, he’s been having a lot of success on the ‘got the dog’ with the snapper and Jew recently!
Awesome job Rhys
Cool Ep guys and nice crab and Squid. Lovely spot Tin can Bay Love squiding and crabbing up there
Sure is Craig, thanks for the feedback, top spot that’s for sure!
Do you have livescope and does the screen look good
Yes Dave, the UHD2 I have is the 9inch version with touch screen all the way to three edges, really good and the same physical size as my old 7inch Humminbird.
To answer your question, the screen resolution is awesome
Awesome video with some great tips 🙏 How deep should the lures be running when trolling?
Hi Nick, normally that will depend on your depth, I like to run my lures within about 1-2 m of the bottom, so you do need to experiment with each lure to see running depths ( tell when the lure hits bottom and then loo Kay depth on the sounder) , I hope this helps. I ‘LL use 3/4m -6m divers in Lady K, 6m divers in North pine.
@@skulldragindustries Excellent. Thanks very much 👍
Ol scotty the snapper whisper. Been a hectic last few months down here boys cant wait for the kings to show up
I go to conjola every year for a week and I fish the entrance with a slippery dog and a double clutch and catch whiting and flathead my best flatty is a 93cm and my pb whiting was 67cm
It’s an awesome spot, 93cm is a horse, so close to a meter. 53 is a decent elbow slapper of a whiting too, well done mate.
@@skulldragindustries cheers
hey man, im heading to jervis bay soon. I know people like to keep their sweet spots a secret, but I would really appreciate it if you could send me the location, cheers!
What’s the tip for catching squid what sort of area or depth
Hey mate, squid were hanging out between the moored boats in the channel , anywhere from 6-8m depth range. Not hard to find, just follow the locals!
Hey last month i got a 53 and my mate got a 51 yella you can tell theyre old as
Good stuff mate, it’s an awesome fishery and the yellas go hard there too!
Absolutely magnificent fish mate, great effort, special release, hats off to you.🙌🎣🏴☠️👊
Nice one 🎣
Great video mate and some awesome bass! Is it ok to fish near the dam wall as I saw some yellow buoys so didn’t know if I fish there?
Cheers Nick, just stay outside the yellow buoys mate, they stop you from getting too close to the dam spillway. But anywhere along to the right from there will also be good. Good luck, happy hunting!
@@skulldragindustries Brilliant! Thanks again 👍
amazing winter action, you caught some absolute monsters! i've only just started fishing from the kayak and kurwongbah has been my go-to destination, it's a cracking venue 👍
Cheers Jake, great to see you out there, plenty of good spots on the Northside to get a fix. I’m waiting for the North Pine 50s to start firing again and we will be off there to have a crack as well.
Hi sir, are there any good spots for land based fishing?
Hi, there are a number of land based spots but you do need to watch for the weed and lillies which will limit your areas to fish, give it a go!
Brilliant mate, you had a cracker of a session! I almost grabbed some square bills of Simon last weekend 🙌🏻 always enjoy your films 👌🏻
Cheers Matt, thanks for the feedback, I watched you Sunday session vid on Boggy, good stuff mate and a few quality fish amongst them as well!
Cheers mate, it’s a magical spot for me being so close to home and I went back recently for a Saturday afternoon and an impromptu early evening session that wound up being quite a nice end to the day
promo sm 🤦
you did cool unboxing, peace out-😌
Excellent mate always love your clips! Having a small cockpit in my yak I’m surprised I’ve not been nailed by a treble or spikes yet….. 😅
awsome video mate hey what is that leg strap that would be great for the taking out in the kayak
Awesome video mate. Some nice fish were caught
How was your heart rate getting that big girl onboard? Bloody fantastic mate well done!
I need to get over that side of town👌🏼
Great Video Lee ,Congrats on the epic catch too
Cheers mate, it was epic!
That’s the shit dude 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Very nice!
Thanks Bill, we hope you enjoyed!
Fishing 🔥👍🎣🇺🇦
Great vid mate. Thinking of taking the canoe for a flick this weekend so you’ve got me excited now.
Hi I normally slow roll my plastics
Awesome Jeff, we sometimes vary between numerous retrieves until we work out what works best at the time, some species react better to the lift and drop like flathead as well, just got to pay attention on the day with what works!
Good video mate was good fun weekend
Sure was mate, gotta do it again when this weather settles down!
I was liking the look of your rod holders👌 are they from hobie or can you point me in the right direction if ya don’t mind 👍
I have two different rod holder types, one is a railblaza on the right and one of the more popular brands used by must yakkers and features interchangeable ports to use different attachments, which is quite handy at times as it will even suit my sounder. The second is a more complicated with a quick release feature, that does spring open from title to time, while it does fold away nicely, I will be replacing with another railblaza in due course. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks I only ask because my tandem mirage has the same as yours on the right but they seem a few inches to a foot out of reach for comfort. Just trying to add something to bring them a little closer. I love that bass fishery you have and. One day hope to have a crack at ya big bass there. Tight lines and keep fishing and showing us what we are missing. 👌👌🤣
great day out mate , its definately my most favourite part of the south coast .Those Diawa double clutch lures are a great weapon .
Awesome fishery, we will be looking forward to a day or two on the water out there around Easter!
What lure did you use the first thing in the morning
use some poppers
Great vid mate. Bring on the barra in november
Keen to do that again dude 🤙🏼
Hey!! Keep making great content. Have you ever considered using Promosm to help get your videos higher in the search results?
How deep does it need to be to use those jigs? Looks fun
Hi Mark, sorry I missed your comment previously. Vertical jigging can be done in less than three meters of water, just depends on where the fish are. Mostly they tend to school as the water cools off over winter, and mimic their breeding behavior, although being fresh they cannot breed as they need brackish water. Mostly on North Pine you will find the schools with the aid of a good sounder and they can be as deep as 27m. By trolling an area you can get a good idea of where they might be holding and then target them with jigs. Hope this helps, tight lines.
ㅕ3 90 ㅑ
Its even more fun in a regular paddle kayak 😜 Grouse vid mate!
Cheers Scott, I’m sure in a paddle yak it’s a whole other level! Tight lines mate.
Live ya vids very informative and easy to watch. Can anyone fish in that dam?? Permits?
Thanks Mark, we launch from the Forgan’s Cove launch area and as long as you stay within the marked boundaries in a kayak, all is good. Like all Qld impoundments you require a Stocked Impoundment Permit, the money for this also goes back into restocking, so it’s a good scheme. You do need to wear a life jacket on the water and watch the weather out there as it can whip up. Because of the large distances you are able to travel it’s also a good idea to make sure you do not exceed your our physical limitations until you get to know the dam a little better. Good luck and enjoy!
Good video!
Nice work!
Great vid
