Saving a 71' F-350 from Scrap After Sitting for Ten Years!
Переглядів 3,9 тис.Місяць тому
In today's video I say the word "unit" way too many times and we take home a 1971 F-350. It's been sitting for 8 years, and it was the lady's fathers. I asked her about the truck 3 years ago and she wasn't willing to sell and after driving by many times I asked again. She happened to be scrapping it that week and I had to make sure that wouldn't happen. These trucks are extremely rusty in this ...
5.3 Ls Swap for One Ton Jeep XJ
Переглядів 1502 місяці тому
This video is to give a rough idea of what struggles I had to work through to LS swap this jeep. I used a 2002 5.3 with a quickdraw bellhousing adapter to a NV3550 from a TJ(ax-15) would work too. I used TJ slave/master cylinders and the 6.0 truck flywheel and clutch assembly. I used a amazon wiring harness with an ebay ecm. I plan on making a walk around where I can review the set up. Thanks f...

Cheap One Ton Axle Swap for Jeep XJ Part 2
Переглядів 8 тис.Рік тому
In today's video I document some of the details of the one ton swap on my Jeep XJ. This swap used a Dana 60 and a Sterling 10.5 from a 2002 f-350. Custom brackets and long arms. I reused factory drive shafts with conversion u-joints. The swap costed around $1000 which was great because I was able to hit the trail and upgrade as things broke. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for part 2!

Jeep Cherokee Head Light Upgrade "Big Difference!)
Pretty good job guys. Good video. Lol! Yes, you have a 360 FE. The FE is a engine design that ford made sevral engines of this design. The 351 was not a FE engine. So they are different. But they did make a 352 FE. Its almost the same thing as the 360 FE. The last 352 made was in 67 though. 68 the 360 took its place. Also made a 390. The 360 is literlly a 390 block & 390 4v pistons. But the crankshaft & the rods are literlly the crankshaft & rods from the 352. Ford put them together & now we have the 360 FE. Those pistons in a 390 are high compression pistons. But when used in the 360 they are low compresion. Hey when you heard it try to start hard, i heard you say "i think i might have smoked a starter" what happened when it sounded like that when it was starting is your ignition timing is too far advanced. Just turn your distributor back the otherway just a tiny little bit. That is actually a good place for your timing. We just back it up alil bit so it starts easier. Keep at it guys. Ull get it.
What is the lift and tire size your running in this video? Good looking rig.
I think Novak carries a ton of 5.3 adapter plates
I like your music too, who is it by?
what a neat old truck
How sis you get into welding? Did you go to weld school?
Do you weld for a living
What did you do for a wire harness?
Amazon
What was the overall cost?
$2500 roughly
@ would you change anything or do anything differently?
Very industrious solutions Thanks for the info-tainment
Did you use angle iron for your frame stiffeners?
15:53 the clip of the test run wasnt before this clip. Hopefully it made it sometime after. I love back yard mechanics. Thats where I learned everything I know from a deaf, retired auto mechanic (ex father in-law). I wont touch internal motor or transmission these days though. Everything else I do still. I do all my own work on my car. Saved thousands over the years. I don't do my own oil changes anymore though.
What 1 ton set up did you use?
3118 Nichole Roads
Haha did you doxx him?
The cameraman made the video, both literally and metaphorically.
Someone needs to call the cops. This is a crime scene!
Did you weld those to your rocker panels under the door?
Yes I cut out the original rockers
You can do it 💪
Did the saw continue to run and if so any video's of it running
Dude get some rustolian
Did it work good no.issues
Next time get a box of zip lock bags
Would love to see more about your flares. Even just a walk around. They look good.
Did you ever find a good wiring diagram for your machine?
If it doesn't pop off within two or three pulls something wrong
Do you have unibody stiffners at all???
Yes homemade with angle iron in the center and 3/16” plate in the front and the back. I spent less than a third of what it would cost but I still wish I bought a set. It would have save a lot of time
I just picked up a sterling 10.25 what rear truss and u bolt did you use and was it hard?
It was a CW truss I believe he’s only local to CT
Como c regula el amperaje o lo que sea en esa maquina d soldar
There’s dials in the front to set the ampa
Did you keep the sealed front bearing and hub assembly?
Yes stock
Yaw need an exo cage and a regear in that territory 😅
Ik the ls is coming first i just picked up the transmission
@@bigrockprojects9216 you’re gonna LS swap it?
Nice idea, but your weldingjob is horrible man!!! Love the car thou ❤
What rotor do you have to use
I ended up just doing 8x170
You would be money ahead just buying one that runs and welds they are relatively cheap
Yeah that’s what I did I’ve just been selling the parts off this one
Yea what's cheap in your mind around here 5500 to 6500 for any diesel welder
How did you get drive shafts to work on the front and rear since the steering has the flat flange
They sell a 1350 flat flange and then I used a 1350 to 1310 conversion u joint to the driveshaft
were u located in ct
how much for all project
My 93 is a manual and a few years ago I did the external slave from internal swap from the Jeep forums Had no issues following the guys parts list and guide.
So in this video you are still running the 3.73 gears?
Yeah I still have them and it’s been my daily
Interesting. You welded the tubes to the housing. How come more people don't do this?
It’s actually very common the tubes twist from the housing if you don’t
hard to climb moss on a rock
Actually fairly good. Well done sir. 👍
Thank you
I love that xj I want more videos with new good Jeep accessories.
Definitely more to come man
Interesting thing...
Oh wow. This is THE PROJECT!
