This is most likely the most that Buddy Ebsen is in the movie. Because it was expensive to reshoot an entire movie, these long shots of the trio running to the door, the Tin Man is clearly seen at a distance. Obviously, there's a reason we don't see the close ups of the Tin Man axing the door open. And when Dorothy exits, the trio is clearly not in those costumes, but it's purposely shot as a long shot to match the earlier filmed scene.

A nice try for the Scarecrow & the Tin Man to stop the ballon with the Wizard of Oz from leaving without Dorothy & Toto when it got loose after Dorothy had to get out to get her dog from going after a cat. It was really nice of the Scarecrow, the Tin Man & the lion to ask her to stay with them because they love her and didn't want to go after what she did for them to get their requests granted while she was seeking a way to get home to Kansas. Good that Glinda, the Good Witch, helped her get home.

Unless they were stupid enough to go so far and admit they stole the puppies (as they had masks on) and were aware of the rare animals being slaughtered for their pelts they could have simply said Cruella threatened them with death unless they retrieved the puppies for Skinner and that they were unwilling accomplices the whole time….. I’m sure they would get a favourable deal as Cruella is indeed a psychopath….. 🤣 Skinner is pretty much screwed as he does skinning and taxidermy for a living and was clearly on her property with his tool kit in hand for a reason and that puppies were there 🤣 being mute wont exactly help him much either!
