What’s all this force shit??? 😂🥳👌
BABA TAHLİYE
44:20 I'm sure Chris Nolan was aware that David Prowse's accent was actually a strong West Country one, which, as an Englishman, is probably the most hilarious accent to imagine Darth Vader having!
Don’t know why people, critics of George Lucas for having the audacity to make the Prequel films and will pick at any straws to discredit this man as a film artist, constantly push the lie that George Lucas did not know Vader would be Luke’s Father. I mean yes stories change as they go but a _lot_ of shit is planned in advance. This guy spent two years alone researching mythology. How can you claim he did not know what he was doing?
Okay well a lot of art is a process of failing upwards and not knowing what you’re doing but even then artists know what they’re doing even if they don’t lol. Art is not a perfect machine that makes flawless entertainment it is a flawed design made by flawed human beings with a passion and vision. George Lucas had the passion and the vision. Don’t discredit him.
just popped up on my home page , youtube what have you been doing keeping this interview away from me
Give star wars to Nolan and maybe we see the last masterpiece of Star wars before disney buries it under shit
Its a 6 hour long toy commercial, its cultural impact can be measured in time wasted, money spent, and opportunities squandered.
Which director would you love to see direct a Star Wars movie?
George Lucas.
bill clinton
@@renegomez8343 What would a Bill Clinton Star Wars be like?
😊
No context😂….He ripped off the Dune series of books.
No
SW is nothing like Dune, apart from shallow aesthetics
hope he mentions Dune.. dude stole a shitload of ideas from it
No gu
Absolutely love Georgie boy. Glad to hear Spielberg believed in the film
In return George believed in Steven when the studio was against him directing Raiders of the Lost Ark. It's because of George that Steven's career was given new life after he went overbudget on 1941 as George was able to convince them the same wouldn't happen with Raiders. They made a great duo on those four films.
2 GREAT DIRECTORS RIGHT HERE!
Ne güzel olmuş amk. Parça olmuş da 4 sene sonra bulmam oldu mu ):
Film making is like bringing your dreams to life for everyone to see. It's a fantastic way to make your dreams come true. George Lucas and Christopher Nolan are intelligent, creative, lucky, and fortunate enough to have been able to make it happen.
Shame he didn't mention his wife's impact on the edit
Miles issucha fucked name boi let me tell er’
As usual , Mr Lucas is not being up front as to what happened towards the end of shooting "Star Wars" and as usual, Mr.Lucas is not being up front with who truly was the division maker who signed the " the green light " for the project and it was NOT ALLEN LADD Jr. as usual Mr Lucas forgets who gave him his life and to this day, does not mentions the person's name . What a scoundrel Lucas is and will always be that way till the day he dies and that's coming soon , because he is not in good health . Mr. Lucas is thankless man that simply won the lottery , that's it.
So who was it then who signed it off?
@@bintube5269 Since you must know , it was the President of 20th Century Fox and at that time it was Gordon Stulberg who granted and signed the "green light" and met with the young George Lucas and Allan Ladd Jr. and assigned Allen Ladd Jr. to Shepard the "Star Wars" project . There are more people that Mr. Lucas has stepped on . Mr. Lucas is a text book description of what is called "Narcissistic Individual " and also in addition an "egoistic " human .
@@walterlacayo6503 A "narcissistic individual" and "egotistical" who since retiring from filmmaking has continued to do work with his educational foundation, is opening an art museum for teaching art's literacy, donated to NYU to start the Martin Scorsese School of Cinematic Arts, paid for the most film restorations as part of the Film Foundation, endowed chairs at USC for Robin Williams and Haskell Wexler, and countless other things that help society be a better place. So before you go around labeling the man actually know what you're talking about instead of being upset he doesn't mention every single name of every person that made a difference in his life. And just so you know, Alan Ladd Jr. had seen American Graffiti before it came out and is the major reason Fox went ahead to fund Star Wars. George has every reason to mention him first and foremost as he's the one who really believed in the project. Almost all of the others at Fox wanted to shut the film down when production got tight. So you should thank Laddie for sticking with it!
@@bintube5269 Don't listen to him. He speaks in half truths that are merely projection as though George owes him something.
Lucas is a visionary who also understands storytelling.
I wish Christopher Nolan could take over Star Wars. But that would be too successful , Disney would never go for that
You can actually see Nolan researching concepts for Interstellar during this interview.
Just brilliant two geniuses in one room acknowledging each other
Created one of the greatest universes we know of, yet possibly the most boring and unlikable man I have ever seen
What does he need to do to be likable? This is a man who donated all of the money from the Disney sale to philanthropic causes, gave NYU the money to start a film school in recognition of his friend Martin Scorsese, has paid for the most film restorations as part of The Film Foundation, continues doing work his educational foundation he's had since the 90's, is opening art museum, gave percentage points to his actors, funded projects of friends, endowed chairs at USC, and countless other noble things. He's a great man who continues to do positive things for society.
@@zoetropeguardian What does he have to do to be likable? He has to be likable. Donating all your money to help others is great, but that doesn't make him any more likable. He isn't bad or anything, just the least charismatic and interesting person I can think of. If you find him likable thats good, but I have the same issue with Tolkien which is so odd when they have these incredible worlds, perhaps thats why.
@@Quantumfluxfield That's fair. I don't know if this conversation with George gives a good rounded view of his personality. I find his conversations with Carrie Fisher and Seth MacFarlane (both on here) do though. Even then I'm not sure if they give the full picture. George is a quiet and introspective guy. He's very introverted. It took him a long time to break out of his shell to become more chatty. So, if you do want a more rounded view of him do check out the conversation with Carrie in particular. I haven't explored much of Tolkien in conversation yet. Except for one. So, I take your word for that one.
@@zoetropeguardian Just wanted to add that he does seem like a kind person, but what is strange to me is it's impossible to tell that he created Star Wars. Just watched Rowling's interviews and she talks about that universe like it's her child, she bleeds and loves Harry Potter. Lucas and Tolkien I don't get that from, which is perhaps what makes them dull for me. But I'm strange, so thats just a pointless opinion on internet 😁☀️
@@Quantumfluxfield I understand that too. She's great at sharing what Harry Potter means to her. If you want a great interview of George that shows love for the work he created check out his conversation with Bill Moyers. It's called The Mythology of Star Wars. His director's commentaries on the disc releases of the films are also insightful. The thing is George doesn't give many interviews and when he does he usually gets asked the same questions sadly. He's also very humble about it as he doesn't try to get too high or low about what he created. Different people deal with success in different ways.
How is this ewok who hasn't made a decent movie in over a century still talking about the good movies he made that he ruined 😂
❤
Nolan's movies are very formula based...too theoratical....lacks the soul and emotion of Lucas and Speilberg.
Does George lucas do any audiobooks or podcasts? I want more of this...
Unfortunately, no. At least not much anymore. A few to check out are his conversation with Carrie Fisher, his BBC Omnibus episode, the documentary Creating an Empire, and his conversation with Bill Moyers. All of them can be found on here.
Let me know when you need more. Oh and do check his podcast episode with Bill Bradley. You can find it in a quick search.
@@zoetropeguardian thanks!
G3orge saying he argued with his screenwriter professor and saying that it does not matter really REALLY says a lot about the prequels
The dialogue in the Prequels is the consistently the same as the Originals. Check out Everytime Star Wars Quotes Star Wars on here. Besides George doesn't use dialogue like most filmmakers since he comes from more pure cinema and avant garde roots.
It really makes you think how many awesome stories are being held hostage by some posse of corporatist bureaucrats that don't know left from right who are somehow in charge of deciding what we make or not.
Whoever did the audio should apologize for the lousy job. Ruined such a great opportunity.

Huge respect to Nolan for letting Lucas talk and not interrupt him.
the only impact of star wars is how he got away with ripping off dune, making billions, denying he did despite dozens of glaring examples, and dumbing it down for most audiences

What a joy to see a filmmaker as great as Nolan fanboying over Star Wars.

He looks abit like Rolf Harris. 😮
The entire British crew was against him? James Cameron can relate to that. 😂

If you enjoyed this interview, I HIGHLY recommend Sam Wasson’s book on Coppola, “Path to Paradise.” Could easily make the case that the two of them (Lucas and FFC) defined cinema for the next three plus decades.

george still telling his lie story about the prequels always being part of the plan
