Couldn’t agree more, as if reared duck aren’t unnatural enough, they are stood on decking like they are at centre parks! Truly awful and should be ashamed of themselves. And certainly shouldn’t be on UA-cam, complete opposite of what we should be conveying to the outside world.

You are right, it was originally designed as a Reel trending for instagram, I will upload some more content like this if you want to see it, just slowing down the transitions :)

They are reared in pens then released at the beginning of the season. The keepers then spend the season trying to keep the birds on site as much as possible via feeding and digging in etc. they are then flushed by a team of beaters with their dogs and flushed over the guns.

Sadly i have not been there yet, most of my clients are shooting in Wales and the M4 belt. Keen to do more up north this season though :)

Ahh right, I've just done our first day of the new season on the beating team there today, the partridge we got up over the guns were fantastic sport ! I'm already looking forward to next week. 🙂@@theshootingphotographer

It is a fantastic place to visit and shoot. Sadly last year there were virtually no pheasants on site due to the avian flu and availability, plenty of duck though :)

Lovely little 20G AYA, and yes, she shot very well with it.

Thank you Barry, I know there are some driven Pheasant shoots in the USA, but it seems that walked up shooting/ hunting is more prevalent. What sort of hunting do you do?

Absolutely, the farmer's son has taken it upon himself to re instate the old shoot, good on him. Fingers crossed I go back there next season after some birds have been put down, there will be a couple of really nice drives.

@@theshootingphotographer with a bit of work and a few ££ those drives could be lovely. Partridge might go well in a couple of seasons.

Most of the birds that they shot were higher than 40m, certainly at Welsh Haven , but yes, it was a pleasure to see great guns at work. Having said that there were birds for every level there too, not all monsters. Thanks for the comment, I am at shoots to capture still photos, but take the opportunity to put a couple of go pros down when i can and the guns don't mind, glad you enjoy the vids :)

Yes, family and friends of Emma, who organises the shooting there, she is shooting with the 20 bore AYA. They were a great team to work with, to be fair, i have not worked with a bad team, but these guys were really nice.

Indeed, however I was there to take photos not make a vid, so the cameras were placed on the ground and left there. It is far from perfect as a shooting vid and really here as a memento for the guns.

Yes he did, there were some fantastic birds there, although to be fair there was something for everyone on every drive, yes there were 60-70 yard birds but also 20-30 yard ones too.
