Hi, im a 7th grader who plays French horn. Ive tryed mello once. Why did my wrist hurt so bad after (left wrist)? also are the fingerings the same as a single horn?

At BOA San Antonio 2022 prelims, my main tuning slide on my mello flew out when I snapped down and I had to go through part 4/rest of the show with out it. Didn’t get it back until I got out to the parking lot with the props since boa is timed. So basically I couldn’t play anymore until I got it.
