Explanation: - apply a drop of good brand thermal paste (I use Artic MX-4) - use a spatula and spread it as thin as possible (less than a mm) - try to be as even as possible The whole point is: CPU and heatsink surfaces are not perfectly smooth under a microscope and the thermal paste's job is to fill in those microscopic peaks and holes to allow 100% contact. So between all the method this is the one the gives most consistent results every time. What do you think?

It's juwt easier to screw the cooler on after applying it, because it will spread it just as well as that tool you we're using.
You'll never be 100% sure that all areas will be covered once screwed the cooler on. After many tests I believe this is the best method 👍
I do the same but take half as long.
Nice mate, I was just making sure to spread a very thin layer (less than a mm) as evenly as possible, or all that work is worth nothing
@@_King_Tech_ That is far too thick bc most will be squeezed out. About 0.5mm is fine and it doesn't need to be perfect bc pressure exerted by the heat sink will disperse the paste evenly. I can't say I'm impressed if that is your level of understanding.
I said less than a mm and you reply that it's too thick by saying 0.5 is fine(same thing I meant), then you mentioned that spreading evenly is not important...if THAT is your level of understanding I'M not impressed
