Everyone in the comments missing the fact that Misato is just manipulating Shinji the only way she knows how. He won't listen to anger, or reasoning, or guilt tripping, or even his own fear of death. She manipulates the one thing that he cares about: the need for human connection. She knows she's going to die and it doesn't matter if it gets Shinji to do what he needs to do.

Watching this movie before the series I have no idea about Kumic po and Reina, and after I watched the serias have totally forgotten they where in the movie.

Ι will only add that because Asuka, Rei and Shinji are literally conscripts and yes conscription does happen and in some cases they can be as young as 10 years old, they are legally adults under martial law, thus Misato did nothing worng!

The detail of the bird's reflection passing over Mizore as she listen's to them gives me chills. Such brilliant foreshadowing, this series is so good!

I love this as a foil to Mizore and Nozomi. The staunchness of these two, that they are at peace with parting ways, is so different from the final scene. It lacks that unwillingness to let go, but still sounds so good. And that's what makes it clear to Mizore and Nozomi that they need to settle their issues. The detail the makers put into the story is so good ahhh!
