    So pushng back that part of the felt carpet will leave permanent creases in it. And the spare isn't secured in that location, it needs to be tied or bolted in. Yeah, I'll pass on doing that because when you sell/trade the car it will look like crap. But it's ridiculous that Tesla didn't design in a place for a spare tire. I know a lot of vehicles haven't had a spare for decades but using the goop or a plug kit can't fix side wall damage or a flat due to pothole rim damage. Having to rely on Tesla road service or AAA, won't help if you can't get a cell signal and if you do it still could take an hour or more for them to get to you. Manufactures need to at least give the cars a dedicated spare tire location and we can get our own spare tire or get the new generation of airless tires on the market, it shouldn't be taking so long!

      The Tesla engineers specifically say they will stay. What's interesting is because the Cybercab is much narrower than the other Telsa models with the Cybercab doors open the car is no wider than the Model S or Model Y with their doors open (even partway). It's all about simplicity. The Cybercab per the engineers has only 50% of the parts compared to the Model 3 and 60% less than the Model Y. It's all about being inexpensive to build and light so the Cybercab will have a small battery and charge quickly.

    This is not a true rotation. The backs can move to the front on the same side however, the front tires need to cross to opposite sides on the back. Not crossing sides doesn’t really help with tire wear. I have yet to see anyone that demonstrates how to lift both sides of the car using one jack. You also don’t mention reprogramming the TPMS sensors for new positions. Is a tool required to do this like most ICE cars use?

    • @geteducatedbyTed

      This is the recommendation for directional tires. service.tesla.com/docs/ModelY/ServiceManual/en-us/GUID-C74DF70D-0991-4FAC-B886-AD0AA35BE32C.html I will ask about the TPMS for new positions. Agree this is good to figure out.

    • @bigceej
      @bigceej Місяць тому

      These tires are directional so this is a complete rotation. For RWD teslas it is still pretty important to do a front/back rotation as the rears wear a bit faster, worsened by a heavy foot as Teslas tend to make their drivers do. For AWD rears still wear a bit more but Teslas traction control and torque vectoring with a front motor tend to wear the tires pretty evenly. Performance models you can’t rotate anyways because the rears are wider. TPMS resets can be done in the maintenance setting screen, lookup another video for those instructions.

      @@geteducatedbyTedtwo floor jacks doesn’t provide proper stability and that’s great that you did it in another video but in this video it shows differently people aren’t going to reference another video if all they’re trying to do is watch this one Got to be careful what you’re showing people because this can cause someone to get seriously hurt

    Have driven with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and Pirelli P Zero on my Model S before. Have now changed to these and the reason was a hope for a longer life, as they are made for electric cars. The others lasted approximately 30,000 km. The difference I've noticed so far is that at lower speeds, 70-80km/h, the consumption is really low. 134 Wh/km at the lowest. But at higher speeds, there is no difference to the others. Sound wise they are quiet, but not as quiet as the Pirelli ones I had. When driving, I feel that the walls of the tires are not as stable as the Michelin and Pirelli tires were. Gets a little spongy when turning.

    Very nice! Way better than cutting tub and foam. Do you notice more noise in car from removing a layer of kind of insulation?

      I really did not notice it being louder. What takes a bit of time is making sure the jack and wrench don't rattle around. I put some clothing and bubble wrap below the tire to address that.

    This EV tires might give more range but with a little sacrifices on wet braking and stuffs compared to the standard Pilot Sport 4.. I know since that was I observed on my MX after I switched to Pilot EV from Pilot Sport 4 . I changed back to Sport 4 after like 2000km since I prefer better handling at fast Highway speeds

      To each their own. I find the handling fine for the Hankooks and I would rather have slightly better range.

    It seems when install new tires the mileage goes down. But as the diameter gets smaller with wear it seems to go up. That is my guess. Wish you do an update.
